The group of beastly jocks all gather around me and one grabs my things then chucks them into a puddle in the parking lot. I let out a whimper and a few of them slap my head and spit slurs at me for being gay. I knew people would figure out my secret, no thanks to my mother. This is the first time in my life I have ever been mad at my mom, guess it was gonna happen at some point.

All of the jocks seemed to be enjoying slapping me in the head, but then the slaps moved to my face, and then they formed into punches. I try to fight back but I'm too weak and can't do anything. One of them bursts into laughter and yells "make it harder for me, I'll make it harder for you!". After saying this, he reeled his fist back and nailed me right in the stomach.

I burst into tears from the whole event and the only thing hiding it was the rain drops falling all over me. I was terrified of the entire event, I found myself hoping they would just kill me. But they just kept swinging and one of them even reached down my pants.

Before things escalated any worse than what they already were, A voice in the distance yelled out to the crowd. All of the jocks turned around to come faces to the wolf that was sitting with them earlier. He was still sitting there chewing his toothpick and he had my bag gripped in his paw. He opens his mouth and says "I'd hate to ruin good fun, but I'm not running laps for three hours just because y'all nearly killed the new kid". My tears stop and I'm left in a daze upon hearing his voice. He speaks with a firm country accent and to me it sounds like the voice of an angel.

One of them responds quickly but I can't see who, he just yelps out "oh man your right! Sorry Rod we're leaving honest!". The one holding me against the flagpole growls in my face and I can smell the alcohol on his breathe. "You got lucky this time fruit cup." He tells me before shoving me into a water puddle with dead leaves floating around it's surface. They all walk away and before I know it they are gone completely.

I don't move from my spot on the ground, I just lay there in the puddle letting the rain wash over me. After I hear the sound of trucks drive away in the distance, I hear footsteps walking up to me from my right side. I roll my head in it's direction and I see the wolf walking towards me. My eyes get a little wide because he matches the silhouette I saw in my dream. The bulkiness, the height, everything. Only this time I could see who he is.

As he gets to me and reaches his paw out and offers to help me up. He has a small concerned look on his face and asks "are you okay?". All I do is nod and he hands me my bag back. I just look up at him in awe. As he stands in front of me, his height blocks the rain from hitting me and I let out a gulp.

"Here, wear this before you freeze to death" he then takes his letterman jacket off and wraps it around me. Under the jacket he has a grey tank top that is hugged tight around his body, and as it gets wet his muscles are fully visible. He wraps and arm around me and says softy "Come on, I'll get you some food in your stomach to make up for their behavior, that alright?". I want to tell him that it's not necessary to spoil me but he walks me to his truck anyway and puts me inside. As he starts it, he turns all of the AC vents towards me and cranks up the heat.

"I know a place with some good burgers, we can get you some food there. I know this is a sore way to meet and I'll try to make it up to you, my name is Rodney" he holds his free paw out to shake mine and I put mine to his so he can and I nervously answer back "m-my name is Francis". This is the first thing I said to him and I hope it's not the last...
