Beatrice's POV

It felt like we had been hugging forever and I never wanted to let go. 

Jasper and Monty was the only family I had and I never wanted to lose them again as I did before. They treated me like I was a person and not a pest to be kicked around. Monty was the fatherly type; very protective and smart; he always had all the answers to my question. Jasper was more of the fun uncle; he'd let me do all sorts of fun things with me like sneaking through the hallways, playing pranks on Monty almost always ended with the two of us being scolded and pouting. 

Monty like to read with me as I was only learning. He would read one paragraph of a book (The Sign of Four) then make me read the next one. At first, I could barely read a sentence, but now I can read nearly the whole 5 sentences! Monty would always give me a high five after; that was my favorite part. He would also teach me small math equations. They were always pretty simple as I couldn't do much; I was only three and four at the time. Some of them I remember quite vividly was...

After that, he would help me correct them if I missed them and helped me understand how to work them out. 

Jasper would teach me all sorts of skills like sneaking about, and how to prank Monty. It made me feel bad at first after seeing Monty's angry face, but after the first few it became so much more fun and I always looked forward to Wednesdays (what Jasper called 'Prank Days'). One of my favorite pranks we would do was make Monty think his house was haunted. I would hide in the cupboards and bang on the doors while opening and closing others while Jasper would hide behind the wall and jump out when Monty walked by, causing him to scream. He would get mad for a bit before smiling at us and eventually joining in with the laughter. Then we would have a nice big hug altogether before exploring the corridors of Farm Station. 

After we had finished all of that it would be nearly time for Father to get home so they would walk me through the corridors (I was usually on Monty's hip) until we arrived in Agro Station, in which they would lead me to my door, bid me farewell before disappearing around the corner. 

"Monty? Jasper, " I was pulled from my thoughts by a familiar voice. Turning my head just slightly, I saw that it was Finn who had spoken, looking at us a bit weirdly, "We're just about to go, you coming?" He asked us, mostly directed at the boys. Jasper, the first to exit the hug, leaving Monty to hold me, turned to Finn and nodded. "Yea, just a second." The Spacewalker only nodded before returning to Wells and the blonde girl who I was yet to earn a name from.

After he had fully disappeared, Monty set me down and moved to kneel in front of my small frame (It's not fair. Why can't I be tall too?!). "Hey Bizzie," He asked, receiving my full attention; I hadn't even noticed Jasper joining us on his left side, "what're you doing here? This isn't a place for little girls." He asked me but I was quite offended by the last part of it.

I crossed my arms and put on my best 'mean' face, telling them off, "Oi, I'm not little. I'm still growing." That made Jasper chuckle a bit and Monty faintly smiles. "Tator Tot, "Jasper grabbed my attention, using my special nickname only he can call me, "this is a bad place. Only the bad kids got sent down here." 

I was confused. "But, but you're not the bad kids. You're nice. Remember, you only wanted to play with the grass!" I tried to tell them but he shut me down quickly. "Tator, we did some bad things to get down here. Why'd you get put in lockup, what happened?" 

Suddenly the memories filled my head and the all too frequent stinging in the back of my eyelids made an appearance. "I, I didn't mean to, " I began to spill everything out to them, what happened to me after they didn't come back, what Father did, how he got me set in the bad place, "He, he was mean. I-it j-just happened! I pr-pr-promise!" I wailed, not seeing the looks I received from other teens around us. 

I was pulled into a warm chest and cradled in the air. I didn't even care to check who it was, I just dipped my head into the crook on their neck and sobbed as they rubbed their palm up and down my back. "Shh, calm down Bizzie, " So it was Monty, "It's alright. Calm down."

I don't know when I fell asleep but soon enough the adventure called 'Life' began...

☾Here you go! Hope you enjoyed the fifth chapter. The sixth will be up shortly after so be prepared. I think this is much better than before and I've done more research on the names and history of the Ark and after they land on Earth so it should be much more finished and informative. ☽
