A Change of Pace

---

Nagisa's POV

After I walked out from the kitchen, I immediately went back to sneak a peak by the door to watch Kayano as she starts bringing out the ingredients and starts cooking.

It turns out Kayano's doing fine, I suppose. The way she handled cooking was pretty normal. Maybe she's quite good at this because she lives on her own. I better start practicing as well if ever that time comes.

Maybe I should go and help her. The moment I saw her gazing at the drawers above the stove, I realized she wanted to get something from up there but couldn't quite reach it.

And so, in order for her to get it, I decided to get back there and help her.

Kayano's POV

"Let me get that for you."

While I was pointlessly trying to reach the bag of flour from the drawers, Nagisa suddenly appeared out of nowhere and helps me get the bag of flour.

"Ah, thanks~!" As I said that to him, I felt like there was something weird.

"I didn't know that Nagisa was this... tall!?" As I thought of that, I slowly looked down across where Nagisa was standing. When I found out that he was using a stool, I was struck with shock and guilt.

I shouldn't have make him do that! When Nagisa found out that I noticed he used a stool to reach the bag of flour, he looked at me with a face full of embarrassment. However I looked away from him as I covered my mouth with both hands to try not to show him that I was about to burst in laughter.

Nagisa's POV

"Dinner's ready!" Kayano said as she carried a tray full of delicious-looking meals to the dining table where I was simply waiting for her.

However, my mind was still stuck about what happened earlier. Sure it was the right thing to do, but I didn't thought that Kayano would react that way. Oh God. I guess some things just won't change, don't they?

"Nagisa?" While I was busy mingling with my thoughts, Kayano brought me back to my senses and I turn to look at her as she sat on a chair across the table.

"S-Sorry." I suddenly apologized.

"Hmm? For what?"

"Well... you know... about what happened back there..."

I don't know what Kayano is doing due to my head being bent lower as I look down on the table. But unexpectedly, a bowl of warm noodle soup was pushed into my field of vision together with a pair of chopsticks and a tablespoon.

"Hurry up and eat, it's going to get cold." I look at Kayano as she said this and I saw her making a face as if she was saying that she wasn't bothered by it. Am I the only one thinking that it was bothersome?
