New beginnings

School dance

Alex, once agin was nervous to see Maggie at school, today she was going to re-ask her to the dance, but this time she is going to make it clear she was asking her as a friend, yes she really does like Maggie, a lot, but she didn't think Maggie felt the same way, so she figured going with her as her friend was better than not going with her at all, right?

When Alex arrived at school she headed straight to the oval where she knew Maggie would be.

"Hey Maggie" Alex called out to the smaller figure from be hide.

"Danvers! hey" Maggie replied with a smile, flashing her dimples. Gosh, she is so beautiful.

"So, I-uh- was thinking...about the dance" Maggie looked up at Alex "and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me" Alex paused "as a friend" she added while flashing her best smile.

"Uh-sure" Maggie replied, she tried to act as casual and cool as she could, but she was screaming inside.

"Great!" Alex replied " so, It's in a few days, I can come by and pick you up if you want" Alex offered.

"NO" Maggie quickly snapped.

"Okay? I'm Sorry? I won't?" Alex was confused at her sudden words, did she do something wrong? Maggie pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, a little embarrassed at her sudden actions. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap, Uh- how about I come and get you?" Maggie suggested trying to keep Alex as far away from her parents as she could, who knows what would happen if they saw Maggie going to the dance with a girl.

"Uh- yeah, that's fine by me" Alex said, still a little confused.

The dance night came and Alex was so excited, she couldn't wait to see Maggie, to see her in her in her dress or her suit, she already knew she would look beautiful.
Alex was getting ready trying to figure out what to wear, she wanted to look perfect for Maggie. After about hour trying to decide she decided to go with a long, red, laced dress with matching red heels that made her a few inches taller. She lightly curled her short hair and  let it sit just above her shoulder, to finish off her look she put on some light make up.

"Wow, you look beautiful" Eliza said as she walked into Alex's room.

"Thank you, mum" Alex said smiling.

"How are you feeling?" The mother asked, walking over and sitting down on Alex's bed, Alex followed.

"Honestly... I am really nervous, I mean..I am going with Maggie and I want it I be special, even if she doesn't like me like that, I-I like her and the night needs to be perfect" Eliza pulled Alex in for a hug.

"It will be perfect" she whispered in her ear. Alex pulled out from the embrace smiling and watched her mum as she left the room, leaving her to finish all of the last minute touch ups. Once Alex was ready she went down stairs and waiting with Kara for Maggie, Kara was going with Lena and they were all going to car pool together.

Maggie was up in her room, getting ready, she put on a pretty white top with black pants and a black blazer forming a suit. She wore black boots that you could barely see because of her pants, She left her hair down, framing her face, with light curls. When she was finally ready she ran down stairs to leave for Alex's house.

"Where are you going?" Her father called out from the kitchen.

"Out" Maggie replied continuing to walk towards the door.

"Answer properly" her mother yelled "where are you going?"

"To a dance at school" Maggie replied opening the door.
