Okay I have a few things to say before this chapter starts. Sorry it took so long I had writers block. This chapter is a bit boring because I didn't really know what to do. Also this book is a Jyler. The plot is formed around that. But jishwa is coming soon. The D.I.D. is a part of the plot but not the whole point of the book.
Also, I got 100 reads! Thanks so much to the people reading!
Ok sorry let's start.
Tyler's POV
We are sitting down on my bed staring at the wall, bored out of our minds.
"Hey, Jenna do you wanna go somewhere else? I really don't wanna be here when my dad comes home." I ask her.
She looks away from her phone and smiles at me, "Of course, where do you wanna go?"
"Um, maybe the park or something?"
"Sure, let's go to the park." She starts to get up and I also get up. We jog down the steps and out the door.
Cloudy. Normal Spring day.
I watch her as she looks up and smiles at the sky. She breathes in and closes her eyes.
She opens them and looks back at me, waiting to leave.
We are swinging in the park, just listening to our surroundings.
Jenna speaks up. "Tyler?"
"Hm..?" I hum still swinging lightly, staring straight ahead.
"What do you want to do when you graduate?
I look over to her, she's staring up at the trees. "I don't really like thinking about it, it scares me." I say while looking back down into my black jeans.
"It scares me too. I always wanted to be an artist, but I don't even like drawing that much...." She trails off and I look over to her and she's staring at Pete who is down the street. He skipped school too, I guess.
"Jenna...." I start but realize that she isn't listening to me. She's listening to Pete who is currently on the phone. Yelling at someone, with tears in his eyes. Something is wrong.
"I didn't want that to happen, mom! I'm so sorry. I couldn't handle myself." He paused for a moment listening to the other side. "I'm sorry, but I'm not coming back. I can't ruin your lives anymore. I'm gonna move with Aunt Kim. I'm sorry. I love you."
And with that he ends the call and sits down on a nearby park bench. Still far away from us, so he doesn't know we are here.
He has his hands to his face. "Damn it! Why can't I do anything right?!" He yells up to the sky, putting his hands down. Tears streaming down his face. I weird to see your bully crying. Normally you would think his life is so much better than yours, but it isn't. He takes his anger from home to school and specifically at me.
Jenna gets up slowly and looks over to me. "I'm gonna try to help him, you don't have to come if you don't want to." She whispers before walking slowly towards his bench.
I decide to just stay and watch, I don't want to ruin things.
She carefully walks over, not to frighten him.
I eavesdrop of course, "Hey, Pete? Are you okay?" She says as she sits down next to him.
He looks over to her and a tear slides down his face. "Why do you c-care?" He says in a voice I have never heard before. He was always so angry. I have never seen him actually sad before. I never thought about him having a reason to be sad.
"I care about everyone, no matter what. No one deserves to be sad, especially by yourself." She said back.
Another tear streams down his face and he just keeps staring at her. I start to get a little jealous.
"Now, could you tell me what is wrong?" Jenna asks him like a mother talking to a 5 year old.
He hesitates on his words, "I-I did something to someone in my family, and it was pretty bad. I was j-just so mad. I couldn't control myself, and before I knew it I had h-hurt some b-body. So I ran as far as I could." Pete sobs at the end of his words.
I felt so bad, I did that once to my brother, Zach. I was having a really bad day at school and I came up to him to say hi. But he said something mean, so I punched him dead in the face. He had a black eye for a week. That was so embarrassing, he feels the same that I did.
Jenna didn't understand like I did, she always was so close to her sister and brother. "Hey, it's okay, Pete. It's okay." She rubs his upper arm to show him that it was gonna be okay.
"I-I-I d-don't know what to d-do." Pete stuttered out.
"I think that you should go to whoever you hurt, and say sorry. They will most likely forgive you. You just gotta explain what happened." Jenna tells Pete.
With that Pete gets up and quickly tries to hide his emotions and he wipes his tears. He turns back around to Jenna and says thank you. And he asks for a hug. She says yes. They hug quickly and Pete runs back to the direction he was coming from.
Jenna smiles at me as we walk back home. But the smile seems forced, like she's sad. "I'm sorry, Tyler, but I just had to do that. I hate seeing people sad, even if they are rude."
"It's okay, I'm sure he appreciates your kindness." I smile back at her showing that it truly is okay. I feel the same way. I would never just watch people cry, I have to see what's wrong.
We reach my house and I walk in first with Jenna coming in second. My mom is standing in the doorway to the kitchen. A glass shatters.
"Shit! Sorry, Tyler! I didn't expect you to come home with a girl. I thought you were taking a walk" She says while getting a broom to sweep up the glass.
I thought she was going to work today. I guess not. "Sorry to surprise you, this is Jenna. My friend I was talking about." I smile at Jenna and she smiles back.
"Sorry, Jenna. I didn't mean to scare you. Thanks for coming over." She is starting to get really excited, I can tell. The smile is what shows everything. She is too proud of me for making a friend. We better go somewhere else before my mom starts getting too excited.
But before I say anything Jenna speaks up, "No problem." She does an innocent smile, to act like she has never been here before.
"Well, we are going upstairs. See ya." I say before glancing at Jenna and jogging up the stairs. I hear her steps behind me, assuming she is following me.
We sit on my bed, and watch her sit beside me. "So what do you wanna do?" She asks, she smiles lightly and waits for my response. But I seem to have already forgotten the question, as I study her beautiful sky blue eyes, and her light pink lips that are slightly parted as if she was waiting for an answer. I somehow get back my attention back to her question.
"Huh?" I say stupidly.
Her face fades into a bright red and mine does too. But she seems to try ignore it.
A smile appears on her face and that smile extended into a laugh, and I joined in too. "I asked if you wanna do anything. I have a few hours till I have to go home." She says in between her laughs.
Our laughter dies down, "I don't know. Normally, I watch TV or I do my chores so my dad isn't mad at me."
"Oh, well do you wanna finish your chores, then? I will help so you can get them done quicker." She says getting ready to get up.
"Okay, if that's what you wanna do." I say back as I stand up, off my bed.
