I had thought waking up would have been the hardest thing I'd have to do that morning, but the hardest thing proved to be the wait for Hayley to come back to the store and tell me who that gorgeous boy was and how I could see him again. I was going to see him again.

I first noticed him while he was walking the sidewalk outside the store while I was out smoking a cigarette. It was his lip ring shining in the sun that made me look up. I was glad I did. What came to vision was the most beautiful boy I had ever seen. His skin was pale like mine but it reminded me of soft snow rather than cold ice. Next I saw his eyes, which were lined with smudged eyeliner, his right one was bruised terribly, but the bruise looked beautiful on his pale skin. The color of his eyes shifted from green to brown. I decided to settle on hazel. In his nose he had another silver ring like the one in his lip, which had a cut running down it that was slightly swollen. His lips looked like a fragile monster, like they were capable of passion and love but also carelessness and lust. I couldn't decide which version I wanted to attach on to me. No scratch that, I wanted both. Love and lust. Passion and carelessness. Most of all I wanted him, but that was obvious. I always get what I want.

Always.

I was going to get this boy if it killed me. It was like Romeo and Juliet. I called bullshit on the book and refused to read it back in high school but at that moment I would've ate it entirely and swallowed because I was in love with him.

He looked about seventeen, though he was rather short, which I found adorable. He was just pacing back and forth on the sidewalk, and with the swelling on his face people were staring. He kept shifting his gaze from one side of the street to another, as if he were continuously looking for cars before he crossed the road. I watched him so intensely I didn't notice I still had a cigarette in my hand until I felt it burn my fingers. I cursed and stomped it out. Now that my cigarette was gone I had to go back to work.

I sighed and backed into the alleyway that led to the back door of the record store, keeping my eyes glued to him for as long as possible. I got to the door and forced myself to go inside. Tearing my eyes away from him seemed physically painful. I stood in the back room for a few minutes before grabbing a box of the new shipment if CDs we had just gotten in. As I walked into the front part of the store I herd Hayley talking to someone and laughing. I figured it was best not to bother her to tell her her shift was done so I just started putting the CDs on the shelves, thinking she would just see me and know she could leave. Sure enough I herd her say goodbye to the person she was talking to and the bell ring as she walked out the door. A few seconds later an old battered pair of converse come into veiw and I stood up.

"Uh. Do you work here?"

I looked at the customer and my heart started beating so fast it felt like it had stopped completely. It was him. The boy from outside.

"Yeah I'm-I work here" I stammer, he was so cute I couldn't even talk properly.

"Cool can you like..help me?" He asked.

"Well yeah that-that's kinda my job." I said smiling at him, he was so beautiful. He snorted and I pointed over to where our new rock section was. Judging by his Misfits t-shirt, black jeans, and eyeliner I figured that's what he was looking for.

"The rock section is over there" I explained. He followed my finger and locked eyes with my favorite section of the store. His eyes by the way, were most definitely hazel.

He nodded and turned to walk towards it when he stopped and looked at me,

"How did you know-" but before he could finish his question I answered it.
