"Let's bring it down a notch, huh love?" Lily asked and younodded grateful for the distraction and she tugged you closer tonuzzle against you before standing tall and smiling at you. "Comeon, let me show you. You going to join Jace?" She looked over hershoulder and Jason held up his hands in a 'surrender' motion andshook his head.

"No, I don't dance." He agreed and you looked between the two.

"Dance?"

"Yes Dance Name, dancing is a big thing, there are dances for everyfestival and even certain rules of dancing."

"Rules? For dancing?" The concept was alien to you. Sure therewere things like ballets and such where there were steps but dancingwas always a...free experience. There were no rules, everyone kind oflooked funny when dancing, it was only being used to a certain kindthat it actually made you think it was normal. So in that way alldances were the same and equal and just as freeing.

"Well kind of-it's more that there are certain kinds of dances thatare done. Like the first dance a couple do as a married couple, thefirst dance a girl will do in the celebration of going from being achild to a maiden, or a boy when he officially takes his first stepsto being a man, and there are certain dances that are only for thosewho are in a forever committed relationship." Lily explained andstroked some of the hair that had fallen to your face, out of theway.

"Forever committed relationship?" You asked and she nodded, suddenly having a somber look in her deep blue eyes.

"Elves aren't like humans Name," Jason whispered standing up andtook your hand, "we know who is the one we are meant for, wedon't...I think the word is divorce?" He made a face as if the ideaof a romantic couple breaking up not only was a weird concept to himit seemed...hurtful almost. But if they somehow knew who they weremeant to be with it would make sense, but...you refused to think ofwhat would be if they were right about you being the one for them.

"So you never break up?"

"No, why would we?" Jason asked looking almost scared and youshook your head.

"Not everyone is a good person; what if someone is with a personwho is a bad person? Who mistreats them? What can they do then?"You asked and Jason shook his head.

"When a couple fully commits to each other they no longer couldphysically hurt the other without hurting themselves." Jasonexplained and that just had you more heated.

"There are other ways to hurt a person, ways to break them withnever laying a hand on them." You argued and crossed your arms, "itisn't right."

"It's the way things are here Name, the way they always have been."Lily explained and took your hand moving you to the more empty spaceseeming to try to get it back to the dance, "we live for a...verylong time, there has been not one case of any couple mistreating theother, it's not in our nature." Lily assured you and held youtightly to her in a hug.

"You'll see," Jason added, "once you get to know us and oursubjects more you'll see for yourself." Jason added and came frombehind you, turning you into a Name Sandwich. You weren't convincedbut could tell the idea of this made them uncomfortable so decided tojust go with the change of subject. Besides, maybe they were right? They had powers and were apparently in another dimension or somethingconsidering that you had entered a Mill but when you looked out tothe balcony you could see the stars and moon.
