Past Whispers

Jason gave Lily a glare as she played with your hair. "Don't annoyher Lily." Jason sighed with the tone of someone who was used tohaving to say this over and over again.

"She's fine," you assured Jason, in truth it felt nice, herfingers were gently messaging and scratching your scalp.

"Tell Name about the different versions of elves Jason, leaverelaxing her to me." She giggled and rested her chin against yourshoulder.

"Should I be worried?" You asked and she hummed and began slowlymessaging your shoulders.

"No, we'd never hurt you Name, not in any way." Jason assured atthe same time Lily spoke, "you're so tense love." She soundedworried as she rubbed your shoulders extremely gently. When someonewas too tense a message would hurt unless you started as soft as amoth's wings slowly rubbing stronger.

"We elves are very similar to humans in a lot of ways." Jasonassured you, "our facial features and height and such are alldecided by our parents. Like for instance Lily has our dad's nosewhile I have our mom's nose." He explained and you glanced betweenthe two of them and tried to imagine what their parents looked like."What is it?" He asked and you bit your lip, he was the one tobring up their parents, so what could it hurt to ask.

"I'm just curious now, which of you look like your parents?" Youasked, they were close to looks wise, you didn't need to be told theywere siblings to know they were related. There were small things, thenose was the biggest, Jason with a roman nose and Lily with thecutest little rounded nose. There were other things, Lily's lips wereplumper, Jason's eyes were bigger and wider, but otherwise theylooked the same.

Lily's hands on your shoulders froze up for a good five secondsbefore continuing on and Jason looked away and you worried that youhad touched a sore spot. "I'm sorry-"

"No, no." Lily whispered nuzzling your neck a bit and Jasonnodded.

"Yes, I brought them up, don't worry Name." Jason assured, "theyjust...they died..." he sighed and gave your hand a squeeze,"everyone used to say I looked like our dad and Lily like our mom."He assured with a far off sad look in his eye, almost like betrayal.Frowning you moved foreword and hugged him tightly, he gasped as itwas the first time you initiated such a loving gesture, you hadhugged them once or twice but usually the two of them initiated hugsand hand holding but you never, even so much as a gesture or facialfeatures, that you didn't want them to. Of course they hadn't movedpast hugs, holding you, and hand holding. Lily rubbing your shoulderswas the furthest either had ever gone.

"I'm so sorry for your lost Jason," you whispered and he pattedyour back, as you pulled back you gave him a gentle smile as he gaveyou one in return. Turning around you hugged Lily the same and shenuzzled you gently.

"Don't worry Name, it was a long time ago; all the sadness has goneand now all that is left is the good memories." She assured you andyou nodded, though there was something in her eyes as well, the samething. Maybe they were not as over it as they said or even thought,maybe the sadness in their eyes were something different, maybe theyjust wished they were here now. Once you pulled away Lily turned youback around and began rubbing your shoulders again; you were alwaysrelaxed just a bit and let out a gentle sigh and Jason took your handagain.
