It took a few weeks until I saw Arizona again. Well, until we actually got to be with each other for more than a few seconds. She kept calling me, and I avoided her. To be honest, I was scared; I hadn't had a girlfriend since The Incident with my dad. Arizona could possibly be the first girl I was with since I came out to my dad. Being Hard core religious, he most certainly did not approve of my being gay. I was scared he would do what he threatened last time: bring me back home and talk to the priest, never letting me out of his sight. I wanted to see Arizona. I mean, We acknowledged each other running down the hallway from one patient to another, but it wasn't the same. I missed her. Maybe I was going too fast. Maybe Arizona really didn't want to get serious. I wasn't sure. So, I decided to keep avoiding her, but my phone starting vibrating one night so I picked it up. I looked at the screen and it said "no caller ID available." And I picked it up. "hello...?", I said. There was a shriek of laughter on the other end. I screamed in terror. "ha! Calliope Torres, I got you good!" Ugh, Arizona did get me good. "Crap!" I exclaimed. Now I have to actually talk to her. "Callie it's not a big deal, come ON" I clenched my teeth, wondering what to say next. "Oh- um, ok." "You ok?" She asked. I took a deep breath. I hadn't told her about my dad yet. "yea totally! Just a little tired, that's all. I'm sorry I haven't answered, it's being so busy! Patient after-" "Cal, it's ok. I understand. You don't need to explain yourself." " thanks Arizona," I replied " so how about that drink we talked about?" Arizona groaned." Gosh, I wish. I'm still stuck at work. How about tomorrow?" "It's a deal." I said and hung up the phone. Crap. That meant I had to face her.
