I had had a very long day. I was exhausted, there having been a lot of deaths in the OR today. Too many tiny humans. Tumors, a ruptured spleen (which shouldn't have caused death... But things happen) and a bowel obstruction (anaphylactic shock). I was beyond done. And absolutely pissed. My scrub nurse was really pissy, and I'm not a cranky person, but I was DONE. I briskly walked into the on call room, friendly smiles and nods to all on the way. I opened the door, and walked in. I took off my shoes. I got into bed and fell asleep almost instantly. A few hours later the door swung open
. I sat up quickly, expecting a steamy couple looking for some alone time. But instead I saw the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen. Hispanic with a gorgeous figure, and sparkling eyes. She said her name was Callie Torres, ortho surgery. I invited her to sit down with me.
