"I wish you would stop looking at me like that." Sweet Pea grumbled as I cleaned the cut on his lip with hydrogen peroxide.

"And I wish you would stop getting in fights at 1:00 in the morning." I sassed back, applying pressure to his wound.

"I swear it looks a lot worse than it is." He reassured making me tilt my head with a 'really?' look. "Look, Fangs and I were hanging down by the quarry and a couple guys decided to mouth off." He shrugged like it was a casual thing to talk about. But at this point, it was.

Sweet Pea had quite the temper which I had witnessed at first hand when the slightest inconvenience had occurred. I had normally been the one to calm him down so it wasn't a surprise that I was his first stop.

I rolled my eyes playfully before backing away, "Okay, tough guy, keep holding that against your lip. I'll be right back." I instructed to which he gave me a salute.

I exited the bathroom, quietly tip toeing through the hallway and down the stairs into the kitchen. Slowly, I opened the freezer, rummaging softly until I found an ice pack. I grabbed it before closing the freezer and heading back upstairs to Sweet Pea.

"Trade me." I told him once I entered the bathroom. He handed me the bloody towel as I handed him the ice pack. He groaned quietly once he placed it against his bruised jaw.

"Come on." I kissed his cheek, taking his hand and leading him back to my bedroom.

I sat down on my bed, patting the area beside me, indicating him to sit down next to me. After he had taken off his shoes and rid himself of his jacket he moved the covers to the side, laying down. Soon after I laid my head on his chest while his arm was wrapped around me.

He removed the ice pack from his face, setting it down on my nightstand and placing a kiss on top of my head.

I looked up towards him, setting my hand on the side of his face and giving him a small kiss to which he pouted, clearly wanting more. "I don't wanna hurt you." I grazed over his cut lip.

"I think I can handle it." He muttered, leaning down and kissing me with a greater force that caught me off guard but I kept up easily.

I deepened the kiss, sitting up so that my legs were on either side of him while his hands were latched around my waist tightly. My hands trailed down from his face, dragging down his chest as I started to unbutton his flannel.

"Bird-" Sweet Pea said before I began to leave kisses on the side of his jaw that wasn't bruised.

"Shh" I whispered, leaving marks on his neck as my hands trailed down to his belt, beginning to undo it. My fingers were wrapped around his zipper before he objected.

"Bird, stop!" He snapped, shooting up from his position causing me to fall to the side of him softly. I furrowed my eyebrows, watching as he ran a hand through his hair, sitting on the edge of my bed while his leg bounced up and down.

"I-I'm sorry." I whispered, though I wasn't sure what it was I did wrong. I bit my lip waiting impatiently for him to explain what was the matter.

"I didn't mean to yell at you like that." He mumbled under his breath, still hunched over with his back facing me.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked him causing him to turn around after a while, his eyes locking onto mine with a cold expression I couldn't read.

"No, Bird. You didn't it's just-" He stopped before grabbing my hands and holding them in his. I smiled noticing how small mine were compared to his large ones. "I'm not a relationship guy, Bird. I don't do girlfriends. But you're different. You're not a one-night-stand that I'll never see again. I care about you. A lot." He confessed, leaving me speechless since Sweet Pea wasn't the type of guy to talk about his feelings.
