The Tell-Tale Heart

"I think it's clear who the winner is." Fangs said cockily as he removed himself from his motorcycle, brushing off his shoulder making me roll my eyes with a scoff.

"In your dreams, Fogarty." I said after I had taken off Sweet Pea's helmet, running a hand through my hair.

"Well maybe if Sweet Pea didn't cut us off, we might of had a chance." Toni rose her eyebrows at the tall boy who had just left his position from the seat in front of me.

He smirked with his arms crossed, "It was a race, wasn't it?"

The four of us had gone down to the quarry after hanging out at the Wyrm for a while. Toni and Fangs insisted they could beat the two of us down here on Fangs' bike but had lost epically.

"Maybe next time you guys won't run your mouths so much hm?" I joked with a hum making Toni object immediately.

"Oh, whatever! You weren't even the one driving." She pushed me lightly as we walked around the rocky area.

I hopped on top of a narrow cement path of rocks with my arms balanced out beside me, Toni doing the same while Fangs and Sweet Pea walked besides us, having their own conversation, "Yeah, well, you just wait until I get my own ride."

Toni laughed shortly, "As if."

We came to a stop once we reached the edge of the water. Fangs lightly nudged me forward teasingly, threatening to push me in the water. I jumped as my heart rate spiked before recollecting myself to spin around and punch him in the shoulder.

"Dick." I muttered as Sweet Pea laughed causing me to glare at him.

"Well," Fangs began, looking around meaning he had a stupid idea he was about to propose, "what do you say, gang? Let's go for a swim." He smiled cunningly.

Sweet Pea hit the side of his arm with a smirk, indicating he was just as down for the idea as Fangs was.

"Earth to idiots?" Toni interrupted leading to a chuckle from me, "Haven't you guys heard how dangerous it is to swim in these things?" She placed her hands on her hips.

I nodded in agreement, "Besides, we don't have bathing suits." I shrugged, looking between the two boys before me who didn't seem merely phased by the cons of the scenario.

Sweet Pea glanced at Fangs with a grin, "Who said anything about bathing suits?" He nudged Fangs who caught on immediately.

The two began to simultaneously shed their clothing, removing their jackets and shirts, kicking off their shoes before stripping off their pants as well.

I raised an eyebrow at the two with my arms crossed and gazing towards Toni who looked at the boys like they were crazy.

"Last one in is buying Pop's!" Sweet Pea exclaimed before him and Fangs raced to jump into the water without a second thought.

I shook my head before taking off my jacket, following in their footsteps. Toni furrowed her eyebrows but grinned when she saw what I was doing. "What the hell?" I shrugged before pulling my shirt over my head.

"I can't believe we're actually doing this." She giggled, mirroring my actions until we were both left in our under garments.

I smiled widely before leaping into the water the same as Sweet Pea and Fangs previously had.

The water was chilling as I had discovered just seconds after submerging into it. Once I had come up for air I slicked my hair back with a shriek, "Holy shit!" I let out, receiving a mocking scream from Fangs to which I responded with a splash in his face.
