Pidge wakes up in a purple room, cuffed to a table. Her head is spinning and she feels blood gushing from her arm.

Everything hurts, she thinks, finding it extremely difficult to breathe. It feels like I broke a rib... or two... Her vision swims and a subtle ringing filled her ears. If the Galra haven't killed me yet, then what are they planning on doing now?

A commander and his assistant are supervising, outside the room. They look at the girl on the table through a small window, observing every detail.

"They say that this one is smart and a quick thinker. Let's see just how much," the commander says in a dark tone.

The few moments that Pidge is awake, she notices that the faint ringing gets louder. It keeps on intensifying and causes her to get a major headache. She cries out as it engulfs her and is cut off by a blinding light.

Opening her eyes, she finds that she is in a white place with a bright flowing dress on. She feels free of pain and looks around in confusion. Where am I? Am I... dead?  It is so peaceful that even her thoughts seem to be a disturbance. Suddenly, a familiar figure comes out of the whiteness.

"Matt? Matt! Is that really you?" Pidge cries as she runs to her brothers arms. He laughs and pulls her into a tight hug.

"Where are we?" she asks once he lets go. "A place where the Galra will never get us," he replies, smiling.

"How is this possible? I was just on a Galra ship and... and, well, I don't know what's going to happen to me now."

She looks down, saddened at this. Matt gives her a sympathetic look.

"You're safe now, Katie. No one can hurt you." She wants to believe him with all her heart, but something about the words seems... fake.

"What am I supposed to do here anyways?" she asks. "Just stare at white nothingness?"

Matt chuckles.

"You can do anything you want. Just think of something."

She looks into her brothers amber eyes before doing as he said. A large, high tech computer system appears next to them and Pidge jumps.

"Where did that come from?" she asks in alarm.

"You thought of it... didn't you?" Matt replies. She nods and stares at the system in awe.

"This... this is amazing!"

Matt grins and takes his sister's hand.

"C'mon, let's check it out!"

They spend a long time going through the whole tech system and figuring out what each feature does. Pidge absolutely falls in love with it and her eyes are shining brightly.

"Where are the others, Matt? I want them to see this," she says excitedly.

"Just think of them, and they'll be here," he answers.

One by one, each of the paladins and her parents come into view. She smiles and she runs to her dad, hugging him. Then she goes to her mom and her friends. Hunk looks at the giant computer system and basically melts.

"That is the most beautiful thing that I've ever seen in my entire life," he gushes. Pidge smiles, then turns to Shiro and gives him a huge hug.

"I'm so glad you're okay! I thought they were going to torture you," she says, filled with relief.

"Who?" he asks with genuine confusion in his voice. Pidge pulls away and stares at him.

"The... the Galra. Don't you remember? We were captured and..." Her voice fades as Shiro shakes his head.

"I'm sorry. I don't understand," he replies. She narrows her eyes suspiciously.

Wait, Shiro would know what I was talking about. I'm sure of it. He was with me, after all.

"This... this can't be real. It's all too perfect and magical. It just isn't scientifically possible," Pidge states aloud. Her father looks at her with desperation.

"But, we're here, and together. Isn't that the only thing that matters?" he asks his daughter. She sighs sadly.

"Not if it is fake. I'm sorry. You have no idea how much I want this to be real. I love you all, but in our reality."

She looks directly at everyone and her eyes fill with tears. A few slide down her cheeks before she says, "Goodbye," and the Galra in the observation room pull her out of her induced coma.

Sorry to end this one on a sad note... well, haven't they all ended that way? Just get used to being sad in this story.

The next chapter is coming very soon! Let's hope that poor Pidge really does get to see her friends and family again. :3
