🔘Chapter Twenty-Four🔘

After the dinner and everyone left I walk the perimeter of the room making my sure no body left anything. My phone vibrates and I see that it says I have 3 missed calls. All from the same number. It's the same number that has called me before. Hasn't the person got the message that I'm not going to answer? After I walk the perimeter I walk out and hand the waitress the fat wad of cash that was everyone's tip for the night. She smiled and thanked me several times for the obvious large amount of cash. I walk out of the restaurant to meet Tae who was waiting for me by Namjoon's car.
"Why doesn't Namjoon just give you his car? He never drives it anyway." I say as I get in the passenger side. He shrugs and closes the door. Once he gets in he smiles at me.
"I'm proud of you Haylee. What you did tonight couldn't have been easy but I'm glad you did." He says and leans in and gives me a soft kiss on my lips. It's short and sweet and full of how much Tae loves me.

Once we get to the apartment building Tae parks the car but leaves it running and walks around to my side. Always the gentleman. He opens my door and I step out. Before I say anything or turn around he kisses me again and hugs me. I giggle and smile at him when he pulls back from the hug.
"I'll be right back I got to run to the store but you look so tired. Go inside and take a hot bath and rest. I'll be back before you know it. Okay?" He says and slowly walks me to the door of the building. I see Baekhyun inside working the night shift. I figured as so since Namjoon and SeokJin left together after the dinner. I walk inside and turn around and wave at Tae as he drives off.
"You look nice." Says a voice behind me. I turn around and smile at Baekhyun.
"Yeah? Tonight was my small graduation dinner." I say and he smiles.
"Well goodnight Haylee. See you in the morning." He says and I wave at him as I head to the elevator. I enter my apartment and close and lock the door behind me. I do exactly what Tae said cause I am exhausted. I walk into the bathroom and strip out of clothes and shoes. I start the bath while I brush through my hair and take off my jewelry and makeup. Once done I turn off the water and remove my bra and panties. I slowly get into the water, I sigh as the hot water starts to easy my fatigued muscles. After my bath I decide to lay in bed and flip through Instagram until Tae gets home. I look around for it and back track to the front door. I look all the way to the bathroom, I look under my outfit that it now in the hamper. I pull all the dirty clothes out and look through the entire thing. I look on the counter in the bathroom to see if I left it there. It's not anywhere. I bet I left it in the car with Tae. I put on my robe over my pajamas and slip on my slippers, I head to the elevator. I'll just use the front desks phone to call him and let him know that my phone's in the car still. I walk over to the desk and Baekhyun looks up and smiles at me.
"Well you look very comfortable." He says with a laugh. I roll my eyes at him.
"Can I use your phone to call Tae? I left my phone in the car." I ask and he nods. I pull the phone over to the corner and type in his number. Baekhyun walks into the room behind the desk to give me privacy and I wait for Tae to pick up the phone. It rings about 4 times and he finally picks up.
"Tae..." I say and before I can say anything he asks me a question that makes my heart stop.
"Haylee do you know a man named John?" When he asks me I don't answer. I'm silent and after a while he responds again.
"Haylee are you okay?" He asks and his voice is full of concern. I take a deep breath and answer.
"The only man I know by that name is my father." I say and he gasps on the other end. I hear the door behind me and in walks Tae with my phone in his hand.
"Well that same number that's been calling your phone called while I was gone and I answered. He said his name was John and that he was looking for you. I told him that I didn't know who he was talking about. He said that it was impossible because this number was the one linked to your name." As he told me this my heart started to beat fast. I start to sweat and feel dizzy. I haven't had a panic attack since the weeks following the incident so many months ago but as my vision starts to blur I see both Tae and Baekhyun run to my side. The everything becomes dark.

He can't know where I am. How can he possibly find me? I did everything right, why is this happening to me? All those nights when I woke up with nightmares, all the progress I've made. Gone. I can't take this...... no I won't be able to live with the knowledge that's he's out on the lose.
