I wake up to the sun shining brightly in my face. I sit up and stretch my arms above my head. I get up and walk over to the closet. I pull out a pair of my favorite skinny jeans and my favorite shirt. It's comfortable and thin, Callie got it for me. The shirt says Bangtan on the back and has a symbol on the front. It's a South Korean body band. I listen to their music but I've never seen any videos. I don't even know the names of the members but Callie does and she just loves this one boy but I can't remember his name. I never remember and she's always telling me over and over again. All I remember is that he's the oldest member. Anyway I head over to the tiny kitchen and turn on the coffee pot while that's making I get some veggies that I brought home from dinner last night and head them up. What? Can't a girl eat vegetables for a late breakfast? Don't judge. When I was done with my "breakfast" I decided to go on a run. I change into some shorts and lay my jeans on the bed. I grab my water bottle, phone, earbuds, keys and wallet. I leave my apartment making sure it's locked. I walk to the elevator and push the button and wait. Once it's opened I step inside. I watch as the doors close and it starts to move. Suddenly it comes to a stop, I look at the numbers above the door and the light has stopped halfway between the 2nd and 3rd floor. I push the emergency button but nothing happens, that's when I realized that it's not even lit up. What the fuck happened to the elevator. I kinda start to panic because I don't like closed in places where I know I can't get out. So my heart starts to race and my hands start to sweat. I try anything I yell.
"Hello!!! Can anyone hear me?!?!? Help!!!!!" I yell as loud as I can. But nobody comes. It's getting really hot in this elevator. Suffocatingly hot, I feel like I can't breathe.

There was a time a while ago where I would've wanted to die. The way I was treated everyday made me want death so much. I used to cut myself, I had to wear long sleeves anyway to hide the bruises. I took the blades out of my pencil sharpeners and used those. I have so many scars from the harm that I did to myself. But that's all behind me. I haven't had a thought like that since the week that it happened. I have a new school to go to, a best friend, an apartment, and much more. I need to live.

I sat there on the floor of the elevator sweating and wondering when I was gonna get out of this stupid elevator. Suddenly the elevator jolted and I squeezed my eyes shut. Oh Gosh please don't let this elevator plummet to the basement and kill me. Please. Please. Please. Please. I guess my serval pleases saved me because then the elevator dinged and I stood up as the elevator doors opened. I looked out and everything was normal. I stepped out of the elevator and ran into something hard. I looked up and seen a face covered in shadow. A man had a hoodie on and the hood pulled over his head so far that it shadowed his whole face. He looked familiar but I couldn't think from where. He didn't say anything, he just put his hands on my shoulders to keep me from falling backwards and moved by me silently. He headed into the elevator and pressed a button. I looked away after the doors shut.
"Are you okay?" Asked a woman at the desk where Namjoon normally sat.
"Yeah, just a little surprised. Actually, no I'm not. Your elevator stopped and didn't come down for what feels like hours." I looked at my phone I left my apartment at 9:55 it was now 11:02.
"I figured out the elevator wasn't working again when that man pressed the button and it didn't come down. I called the guy that normally fixes stuff like that but he won't be back in town for another week. You might want to use the stairs until he gets here to fix it." She said trying to look concerned.
"I live on the 3rd floor. I'll take my chances with the elevator. Where's Namjoon by the way?" I ask looking into the room behind the desk that's always kept closed but now is wide open.
"He didn't feel himself this morning. He called me and asked if I could cover for him. " she said smiling at me.
"Oh okay. I didn't know that others worked here besides Namjoon."
"Would you like to leave a message for him?" She asked grabbing a piece of paper.
"No that's no necessary. I'll just talk to him when he gets better." I say as I walk towards the doors.
"Okay. Have a good day. " she says smiling brightly. I smile back and walk out the door and start my run.

I've been running for a while now and I'm out of water. I slow to a slight jog and go into a gas station. I grab a water and head to the counter. I wait in line behind a man with a little girl who's eating an ice cream cone. I smiled at her and she smiled back with chocolate around her mouth.
"Is that good?" I ask the little girl.
"Yeah, you want some?" She says while holding the cone out to me.
"No, thank you though. I think you should finish it." I say with a chuckle.
"Okay, but you're missing out. " she says and the man begins to walk away and hurries her along.
"Bye." She says as she waves at me.
"Bye" I say and wave back. I walk up to the counter and set the water bottle down and take out my wallet.
"Do you like kids?" The man behind the counter asks me as he types on the cash register.
"Yeah I do." I say and smile at him.
"It seemed to me that you communicated with that little girl very well. Her dad, the man that was with her, is rude. He always comes in here and buys all kinds of stuff and then takes it to his vehicle and then brings his daughter in and buys her a ice cream. If we don't have something he wants he'll get mad and storm out. Especially if we don't have the cigarettes he wants." He tells me.
"Wow. Is he nice to his daughter?" I ask.
"As far as I can tell he treats her well. She looks at him like he's her world. Calls him daddy and hangs on his arms and legs. She act goofy in front of me and makes her dad laugh." He says.
"That's good." I say. "Uh how much for the water?" I ask.
"Right. Umm 1.49$." He says. I pay the money and walk away. He was very good looking, had a slight accent with his words and big plump lips. I didn't see his name tag but it seemed like he's the only worker. I walk my way home and enter the apartment building.
"You're back! Did you enjoy your run?" The woman at the desk greeted me when I came in. I nodded and walked to the elevator. I pressed the button and the doors opened. I walked in and when the doors were about to close a man came running towards in and stuck his hand in just in time and the doors opened.
"Sorry, can I ride with you?" The man asks in broken English.
"Sure." I said and stepped aside.
"What floor?" He asked me.
"I'm going to the 3rd floor." I say to him.
"Okay." He said smiling, "My name is Jung Hoseok, but you can call me J-Hope." He says smiling at me while holding his hand out.
"Oh umm my name is Haylee Jefferson." I say as I shake his hand.
"Nice to me you Haylee." He says. The elevator dings and we both walk out. I walk to my apartment and he keeps walking.
"It was nice to meet you too." I holler after him. He turns and waves at me and enters an apartment down the hall. I notice he doesn't use a key instead he knocks and is let in. I look a little closer and notice he went in the same apartment Namjoon had been in the day before. Where that mysterious Tae guy lived. I'm determined to know who he is. Namjoon knows him. This Hope guy knows who he is. I want to know.
I want to know...
