Simon's POV

I slung my rucksack over my shoulder as I headed out into my yard and onto the street, waiting for my bus.

It was my last year of High School, it being November exactly. I've been doing great in my classes so far, but it's hard to tell being so early into the school year. I moved here at the beginning of the year, not making any friends.

There were a clump of kids around me, most of which I recognized, but didn't know. They were all separated into their separate groups, one the jocks, the nerds, the popular kids, and everything in between.

This one group kept catching my eye though, it was a group of all boys, they were defiantly gamers, as I've overheard from past conversations, but they also played football. They were all the best on the team, except for one of them, they were defiantly the bench warmer, yet he was there.

I've thought about playing football, I always messed around with one in my backyard, but I didn't have the confidence to do so. I did at my old school, I was starter striker, but...not here.

Their season went on as I went to some of the games, just to watch some football. One of the players that really stood out was JJ, he was amazing.

JJ was in one of my classes, my Geography class, which was also my worst subject.

Geography was so hard, I could barely even get around London. Why was it so important to teachers that we knew where everything is in the world if were never going to be able to afford to go there?

The bus pulled up, I was right in front of where it came, I went to go up onto the steps when some guy snickered, pushing part me. I stumbled, but kept my balance.

I waited for everyone else to go, then got on the bus. I looked wide-eyed at the seats, seeing that there was no where to sit. I usually drove to school, but my car was getting its snow tires on.

I felt my heart pound as I urgently searched the seats, trying to find an empty one, but it was hopeless. As I walked by, some kids would scoot over or move their bags in front, not letting me sit.

Someone grabbed my shirt, pulling me into the seat next to them. I stumbled in, shocked. I could hear a couple of kids snickering, then continuing on with their day.

I looked at the boy next to me. He had dark skin, and dark eyes. He was smiling, his teeth shined as he stared at me. He was rather fashionable, wearing a cap and some nice shoes. He was looking at me with curious eyes before he held out his hand for me to shake it.

"I'm Tobi." He said in a low voice, almost worried about being to loud. The other kids on the bus almost drowned him out.

I recognized Tobi, he was amazing at football. His speed was one of his greatest attributes, making him a great wing.

"S-Simon..." I muttered out, slightly embarrassed. He was one of the first people to even talk to me.

His eyes traveled out to the window, before looking back at me, "Sorry if you didn't want to sit with me, you just seemed a little lost mate."

I shook my head, he was telling the truth, I probably did look like a lost puppy. I hadn't found my place at this school, and I didn't think I was going to.

After what seemed to be the longest bus ride of my life, we arrived at school. As we got off the bus, Tobi tipped his hat and we split ways. He joined the rest of his mates up ahead.

I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding, I totally fucked that up.

I headed to my class anyways, stopping at my locker to pick up my books. As I was grabbing a book, someone slammed my locker shut, making me jump back. The couple of books I was holding fell to the floor with the loudest thud, making my cheeks go red.

A boy I didn't recognized was snickering as he walked away, clearly satisfied with his work.

I felt all eyes go on me as I bent down, starting to pick up my books. As I was doing so I saw another hand join me, grabbing some of my books. I looked up, seeing a blond haired boy staring at me.

He was wearing light-washed jeans and a dark green top. His eyes shimmered a strong blue as his lips were pursed together. He stared at me for a moment, then snapped out of it, quickly going back to helping me with my books.

"I'm Callum Airey, but you can just call me Cal," He handed me my books, and I quickly stuffed them into my rucksack.

"T-Thanks, I'm Simon..." I mumbled, not looking him in the eyes, but the more I inspected him, the more I realized he was younger.

"I-I haven't seen you in any of my classes." The boy lingers on, "Are you not year ten?"

I shook my head, coming to the realization he was only in year ten. "I'm in year twelve."

His eyes widened in shock, but he quickly gave me an apologetic look, "S-Sorry, I've heard you were a new kid, and well, I couldn't imagine moving my last year."

Before I could reply, I was saved by the bell, the one minute bell, saying you better hurry to class.

"See ya around, Simon." He says quietly as he rushes away, turning into his geometry class, evident by the sign on the door. I sighed, heading to my class.

JJ'S POV

I sat at my lunch table, ruffling little Vik's hair at a stupid joke he made.

At my table was Josh, Tobi, Ethan, Harry, Vik, myself, a girl Josh was friends with, the two cal's, and Chris. We were almost the entire Varsity football team, minus a couple of others. And plus Josh's friend.

I watched Josh look at the girl with expectant eyes, clearly crushing. Josh has a small stubble on his face, and deep eyes. His black hair was pushed to the side, with a little bit of hair gel.

I leaned in, whispering in his ear, "Something catch your eye mate?" He quickly stiffens up, snapping back into reality. He blushes and looks down, trying not to look.

"It's obvious you wanna get in that girls pants." Josh looked up at me, a flicker of anger in his eyes.

"Her name is Freya." He mumbles under his breath, trying his best not to swear.

Freya didn't seem to notice our conversation as she was laughing and joking with Harry, but her eyes kept wondering back to Josh.

"Damn three days of talking to this girl and she's already thirsty for you. Way to goooo!" I said a little to loud, noticing her stares. I went to high-five him, and he looked at it hesitantly, casting a glance at her before high-fiveing me. He obviously didn't want to act strange. It seemed evident she didn't realize what I said though, over the booming laugh of Ethan to her right.

Over at my right, Cal was sitting there. He was fiddling with his fingers, sighing as he stared off into the distance, obviously something weighing on his shoulders. I looked where his eyes were, resting, there was a boy sitting alone, his head down as he ate silently.

The boys dirty blond hair shined in the light of the window he sat next too. He sat all alone, eating his food. After a closer look, I saw he had homework next to him, assuming maths by the calculator. He seemed like such a nerd.

"What's with the nerd." I gestured towards him. Cal looked at me, shrugging, trying to act it off cool.

"Y-Yeah, he seems totally lame. Who does homework during lunch." He said with a hint of regret laced in his voice.

"And alone..." I said seeing what I could get out of him. He put a big mouthful of food in his mouth so he didn't have to talk anymore.

We continued on with lunch, laughing and talking, but my eyes couldn't help, but wonder back to the tall boy.
