I could hear Shawn pulling in outside. He was finally home after a week trip. Yes! I know about everything that went down with him and Roni at the restaurant. I'm just waiting to see how long it's going to take for him to tell me without me having to ask.

I'm not even upset about the kids anymore. It's the fact that he keeps doing this sneaky shit behind my back. How do I even know he's been on a 'business' trip? I've been trying to keep my mind off of it as much as possible.

As I breastfed Ma'kai, I opened my email to find an interesting message at the very top. It was from Texas Military Department.

"What the hell?" I mumbled, opening the messages.

I feeling of relief fell over me once I read it.

Hello Beyoncé,

This is your father, Mathew! I know we've both been deployed out the country for way too long. I know you're back in the states now. Just wanted to let you know that I'm retiring and back home in Texas. I'm located at the Texas Military Department in Austin. Hopefully I can see you soon! I really want to talk to you about work anyway!

Call me at the Texas Base Number!

Love you baby girl! ❤️
Sergeant Matthew Knowles

I haven't seen my Dad since I was deployed. During my deployment, he was deployed to a different country than I was. I didn't know this until I got back home. I was expecting to come back home and see both my parents together, but it seems like things just didn't work out between the two. Lord knows I've been waiting to see my father.

Shawn came into the house with his belongings. Quincy immediately hopped up and attacked him.

Wassup man?" He smiled.

"Nothing!" He said.

"Hey baby." He spoke, putting Q down.

"Hey Shawn, how are you?"

"Good." He said kissing my cheek.

He peeked at Ma'kai under his blanket. He became distracted by his Daddy looking at him. He even cracked a small smile. Shawn and I laughed.

"Tell Daddy to let you eat and he can have you." I said.

"I'mma go take a shower, I'll be back." He said.

"Okay!"

Shawn headed on upstairs. I'm just going to see how long this shit is gonna last. If I can't trust him to tell me the simple things, it just makes me wonder what else he's hiding or lying to me about.

I headed upstairs just as Shawn was sliding his basketball shorts on. "Here Daddy! Say change me!"  I said handing him to him.

"Wassup man?" He chuckled, holding him over his head.

He laid him on the bed to start taking his diaper.

"So how was your business trip?"

"Good!" He mumbled.

"What did y'all do?" I asked.

"Beach, chill, dinner."

"With who?" I asked.

He sighed deeply, "Listen, I know Nicki told you everything cause Meek told me. Whatchu wanna know baby? I'm here to tell you the truth cause I'm tired of being watched by your girls every time I go some fucking where. What do you need to know?"

"First of all, can you calm down cause I don't know where all that energy came from with Nicki." I told him.

He sat on the bed in frustration.

"She called me telling me about it. You know I don't do all that questioning until we get face to face. My only issue is that Vinnie was with you, which is fine, but you didn't tell me." I explained. "You didn't even tell me they were gonna be where you were."

"You're right and I apologize, but honestly, it was last minute. They called me and said they would be out of town. I ask where to and they said Fort Worth. I just happened to be there so they booked a room in the same hotel and we just chilled for the weekend."

"And what about you meeting with Roni at the restaurant?"

"She wanted to talk to me about the kids. She thanked me for calling and helping financially. She told me how she wasn't in a good place to take care of them and that her Mom was doing some custody battling with her. That's it! Nothing else happened."

"Okay! And that's fine." I said. "But Why is it that you have to keep this away from me though? I understand what I said about the kids and I apologize for that. I know they have a special place in your heart, but I feel like I can't trust you when you don't tell me things."

He nodded, "I'm sorry! I promise to tell you about the things going on with me and the kids. I just don't want to lose them cause they're obviously still attached to me months after being apart. I just can't do it Bey."

"And I hear you baby! I was selfish and hella pregnant the first time we talked about it."

He chuckled.

"I should've known the bond you had with those babies and I did. The time just wasn't right at that very moment." I told him. "So what are we doing from here?"

He sighed, "We're being honest about everything from here in out. Rather it's about the kids, our jobs, what happens outside the house, anything."

"That's right!" I said.

I kissed his lips.

"Hey listen, it's been six weeks." He said. "Like way over six weeks."

"Okay and?"

"Can a nigga get some pussy or no?" He asked.

"No....I'm on my period." I said.

I could tell he was upset.

"I'm sorry!" I mumbled.

He shook his head looking down at the ground. He grabbed Ma'kai's diaper bag and car seat. "Where you going?" I smiled.

"Don't worry about it." He mumbled.

I followed him downstairs. This nigga was really putting my child in his seat. "Where are y'all going Corey? What's wrong?" I laughed.

"Obviously we don't belong here so bye." He said.

"Shawn!" I smirked. "I was just joking."

He gave me that I'm finna tear you up look. I backed up slowly just as he was sitting the car seat and bag down. I took off upstairs with him full speed behind me. Clothes were flying in every which direction. Q and Ma'Jai might be getting another sibling tonight.
