We all walked together. Together down another stupid hallway. When I play the game on the computer there's excitement and thrill down these hallways. Right now there's only boredom and the occasional fear of losing my life. Everything was good right now, Alex was leading next to Felix talking to him as Ryan stayed near me. Ryan's laughter broke me from my chain of thought.
"Hmm?" I ask looking at him.
Ryan looks up at me with a smile. "Aren't you watching them?" He asked as he pointed to Alex and Felix.
"No," I said now looking at the two.
Alex was asking all these questions about Amnesia. She sounded like a little kid that would find something to ramble on about. It was funny because the expression Felix had was annoyance. He would sigh heavily every now and then, but continued to answer Alex's questions. Her eyes lit up with energy again.
"Is she always like this?" Ryan asks causing me to look at him once again.
"What? Childish and annoying?" I ask snickering. "Yea, she always has something to talk about. But that's Alex and that's why people enjoy her. Otherwise she shuts down and tunes us all out," I answer my best. "Why?" I ask.
"Because she's acting like this isn't happening, like we're all back home," Ryan says.
Sighing, I nod with agreement. "It all got bad so quickly though," I whisper.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
"I mean she hasn't slept. She's also stayed in the dark to long, it all went to hell," I explain. "Alex said these things don't bother her, but that's funny coming from how she pleaded on getting in the closet with us when there was one of them," I added.
"She's just scared, this is new to her," Ryan reasons.
I wish I could believe him. "Anyways... aside from that, what's Felix and yourself like?" I ask.
Ryan's head perks up a bit, but his masked eyes find the floor soon after. "Felix is Felix. The energetic boy from Sweden that can get along with anyone. He's been my best friend for awhile now and in that time he's only shown friendliness and joy. If he has a problem he's not afraid to speak it, but comes back strong and energetic. Felix is someone you can count on," he says.
I didn't reply, only looked at him. I then look at Felix who kinda just looked at Alex as she asked more questions.
"What's your story?" Ryan asks me.
"What?" I question.
"What are you like?" He clarifies.
I noticed he blew off the topic of himself, but I wasn't going to pressure him on talking. Letting it slide by, I feel uneasy trying to find an answer for him. "That's something for someone else to answer. Someone who knows me. I'll go get Alex, help Felix out," I said as I started to pick up my pace.
"But then she won't stop talking to me," Ryan jokes as he laughs a bit.
"Don't worry, she's only doing that to bug Felix. Otherwise whatever energy you put in her she's gunna send it right back," I said as I walk up to the two.
Felix looks back at me and smiles. "Oh, hey Raven," he says happily.
"Hey Felix," I reply. I turn my head towards Alex. "Is it ok if I talk to Felix for a second?" I ask her.
Alex nods before drifting back. I saw Ryan has started to speak to her.
"What is it Raven?" Felix asks me.
"Nothing, just thought I'd get her off your back for a little bit," I laugh.
Felix gave off a shy laugh as well. "Thanks. She still doesn't seem to get it," he said looking back at her.
I didn't reply because I wasn't going to tell him how she knew. Alex and I always talk about the games we played.
"Anyways, what's up?" Felix asks.
"Oh, nothing much," I say. "Do you know where we're going?" I ask.
He shrugs. "Maybe... yea... no," he finally answers.
I giggled a bit, but after it was just silence. Silence for a long time and way.
We walked in a near by room as the oil for the lamp got low.
In the room, Felix searched for oil with me, Ryan was looking for notes or letters, and Alex got distracted playing with a spider in it's web.
I was searching through a drawer filled empty papers and books lacking importance. I was about to close the drawer when one smaller piece of paper caught my attention. Grabbing it and unfolding it, the paper only had a series of numbers on it. Taking some interest in it, I tuck it in my pocket.
"I found some more oil. We can continue," I hear Felix say.
I stand to my feet and look at the other two. I know Alex hasn't rested and I'm not sure about Ryan. "How bout we stay here for the night," I said, but realised I guess it's always night. "Today... tonight?... Let's just stay here for awhile and rest!" I get frustrated with myself. The three chuckle at me.
"Are you sure?" Alex asks.
"Yea, you still need to rest. Who knows how long you've been up," I said.
"Over sixteen hours," she says.
I give her a confused look. "How do you know that?" I ask.
"Because when you're alone you have time all you did is count than calculate," Alex answers.
I again gave her a weird look. "See that just proves you need to sleep," I say.
She shrugs before walking off.
"We could all rest," Ryan says taking a seat in a chair.
"Ok. Looks like we're staying," I said.
I let hours pass by me. Alex has fallen asleep and so has Ryan. Felix sat, but didn't sleep. He would speak every so often, but didn't keep a conversation. As for me, I was reading a random book. Ironically a mystery book that took place in a mansion.
"Raven?" Felix's voice diverts me from the book.
"Yea," I said letting him know he has my attention.
"We need to talk," he says. "There's something important I need to tell you."
