Luke

three days later.

We were home and Vanessa was mainly miserable, mainly because she wasn't taking it as easy as we were telling her to

One thing we learned was that she was very hard headed, she wouldn't ask any of us to do anything for her, she would do it herself

This caused many unnecessary trips up and down the stairs along with bending, which didn't make any of us happy, especially when we caught her.

I went upstairs to check on her, mainly making sure she wasn't doing anything.

I pushed her door open, seeing her laying on her side, out cold with her phone still in her hand

I laughed lightly, knowing it was the medicine that knocked her out.

I covered her shoulders before plugging her phone up for her, setting it on her bedside table.

As I covered her completely, she woke up, slightly alarmed, making me almost immediately step away

"It's just me" I spoke out quickly, watching her eyes focus to me before she visibly relaxed.

"Are you feeling okay?" I asked her, seeing her nod lightly

"I just feel stiff" she explained, making me nod.

"It'll get better" I breathed out, moving closer to her again

"Are people coming over tonight?" She questioned, referring to it being Thanksgiving dinner.

"No, I think it's just us" I spoke, seeing her look to me,

"You didn't invite your family? Like your mom and dad?" She questioned.

"No, they live in Australia, we'll probably go over there for Christmas" I explained, seeing her nod lightly.

"Is it just you and your parents?" She asked me, making me smile

"No, I have two brothers" I spoke, seeing her eyes shoot to me

"Just more guys?" She questioned, making me nod, pushing hair away from her face,

"I can promise you one thing" I spoke slowly

"No one that we consider family will ever hurt you purposefully, I promise that."
