"You've gotta try to stay on it, love" Ashton laughed as we watched Vanessa groan- surfing not treating her well.

She got herself back on the board, her hair dripping as she looked to the four of us.

"It's harder than it looks"

To say the least, she never gave up- but she also never got it.

"Shit" she spoke out after swimming up for the hundredth time, myself laughing, making her splash me.

"It takes practice" I spoke, seeing her roll her eyes.

We all went back to the beach- playing a little volleyball, which we all sucked at- besides Vanessa.

Michael, Ash and I watched as she hit it over- straight to Ashton, who hit it into the air, causing it to fall straight back to the ground on our side.

That was also the winning point.

Calum and her broke out into screams- hugging each other dramatically.

"We best you with less people!" Calum yelled.

"Calum, you didn't even hit the ball" Ashton shot back.

"I picked a damn good partner, though"

We soon all sat on our towels, watching the waves, looking to the sunset.

I looked to Vanessa, who was leaning on Michael, her eyes focused to the water.

I took a picture of the moment, setting her as my lock screen.

I was in love with that kid

Not a love like a girlfriend or a dog

Something different, something I hadn't felt before

I'd do anything for that kid

I was sure if it.

We soon all slipped shirts back on, packing our items.

We made the walk back to our car, piling in as Ash drove us back home.

"Someone's sunburnt" I mumbled, touching Vanessa's bright red cheeks gently, seeing a dimple show as she smiled.

We went into the house- seeing everyone in different areas of the house.

Tonight was our last night in Australia, we were all sad to leave, but yet ready to be home after two weeks here.

After a movie night with everyone, we all found each other yawning and saying good nights.

I hugged my family before going upstairs with Vanessa.

We got into bed together, her eyes locked into her phone as she finished the movie we were watching on Netflix.

I kissed her temple gently, seeing her smile again.

"Thank you" She spoke, locking her phone and setting it on the bedside table

"For what?" I asked back

"Giving me a family"
