Jamie's P.O.VJason gave River a lingering kiss before he left which left River astonished. I guided the pups and Omegas in the cellar (aka Hideaway). I brought the pups to a corner of the cellar we were in. River and I spent time decorating it and making seem like a fun and safe space just in case anything happened. We did it to keep the pups calm, they were being pulled from their fathers or even mothers since we had some female alphas. I grabbed a flashlight and proceeded to make a puppet show for the pups. Some omegas were crying, of which I glared at to shut up so the pups wouldn't freak out and make a lot of noise. I wasn't quite sure why everyone was freaked out by some random wolf pack being in our territory as it happens all the time. Ever so often, Jason would come back and inform us on what the rest of the pack is doing but didn't give us much to go on. This went on for the rest of the day until I got so bored my curiosity took over and I asked about the pack in our territory to River.
"I don't really know much but I can tell you what I do know. Have you ever heard of the 4 kings? West, South, East, North?" River raised his brow in a 'are you following along?' manner and I nodded in response.
"Well, they all have main packs. There's packs like us, we live in the west territory but we don't work for the King of the West. The King Of the West has a huge pack that makes up the West, we're kind of a rarity in that sense. This goes for the South, North, and East. And East is known for being the most dangerous in a certain sense. They are all on the same level but even then East is the scariest. They are 100 times more reckless than Jason, some say they don't have any mercy, but what's even worse is that they are clever. Yes, they are reckless but they know how to control it and use it to their advantage. They have no reason to be in the West especially in our remote territory. Do you get it now?" River questioned cautiously as I started to shake just a bit.
I was mostly worried about the rest of the pack. If what River said is true, they have no chance. I believe in my pack but not against something like that pack. I knew what I had to do and I was going to see if I could convince the rest of the pack to join us in the cellar. I waited until everyone in the hideaway slept as I crept out the cellar. Any rustling noise made me freak out inside, as I held myself and tried to compose my mind. I walked all the way back to the Pack as our little settlement looked abandoned. I stalked up to Colton's door and knocked before facing a shotgun barrel. I swear I almost pissed my pants right there and then. "C-Colton it's me...!" I quietly shouted before Colton yanked me inside with fury in his eyes.
"What are you doing here?!" He held me by my collar as I looked down at the floor and then back up at him.
"River told me about how dangerous they are and I don't want you guys to die...you guys are the only family I have. Can't the pack hide out with us? Please? It'll make us feel safer and I don't think you guys can fight them! You guys will die!" My face was met with a strong slap across my face as I held my cheek. I knew I deserved it but I didn't think Colton, not even in a million years, would ever do that.
"Jamie, you do not question my order and I know you guys are worried but this is what we are doing. For the good of the pack, we aren't planning a close combat. We just want them as far as possible. That is, if they even come here. Now get back to the hide away and don't come back until I say so." Colton's voice was stern and he meant it. I didn't want to cry again, I've cried too much this past week so I just weakly nodded in understanding. Colton sighed and pulled me into a tight hug, "We won't die. I promise." I buried my head in his chest before pushing back.
This seemed dim but I didn't want to get attached...out of all times. I waved at him, "Oh and tell Jason that River is worried...I'm sure he would love to hear about this-," my sentence cut short as my hair stood up again and I could see a distant light. Colton let out a howl and pushed me away. I knew what this meant. They were here. I ran as fast as I could and it just seemed like the light was following me. The light soon divided into two different sets. That meant there were 2 cars now. Who would need that many people just to pass by peacefully? It wasn't time to have a panic attack so I kept running and opened the hide away door and slipped in. River was standing there and once he saw me he punched me so hard in my chest.
