Don't Let Go

Chapter 3

Unknown P.O.V

Today is the day, I find my mate and get to lavish them alll night long. I take my right hand man and I tell him to have all the omegas in line tonight.

"I can't wait to find my precious mate," I state as I stare down at the letters I've received from the West and South. I carefully open them and read them through as it talks about alliances which is the usual. I throw the letters in my "to be re read again later."

I walk out of my office and walk down the hallway scanning every person near me. Most of them giggle shyly as they think I'm checking them out. They aren't quite wrong but I'm only doing so because anyone here could be my mate. I go through the day with anticipation filling me to the point I can't even focus on work. I perform the ceremony for everyone which is basically broadcasted throughout my little kingdom since we're not some small pack. I basically own the East. I can't worry about every little place. My right hand man, Maddox, he's a year ahead of me so he already has his mate so I'm high key jealous of him. They are so cute together, I don't really regulate the relationships between Omegas and Alphas in my kingdom. We just follow the basic rule, Omegas are beneath us. I mean, that is a fair rule and common knowledge but all these pockets of "we want to be treated equally" pop up sometimes and I usually have to squish them. I don't quite understand what's the point of even trying to stand up. I slid across the kitchen and grab a piece of bread which feels familiar for some odd reason. I never really craved bread in the morning but I just shrug it off. I see how my staff is doing making the food and they are half way finished. I get served automatically even though everyone's dish isn't ready yet. I sit down on my long table with my main crew filing in. My waiters plate everyone as I give them an appreciative nod. They keep their eyes down until one of the waiters spills one of my crews drink on them. Silence filled the room as I wiped my mouth.

The poor boy was trembling and looked like he was going to cry at any sound, "Just go." He jumped at my voice and hesitated before leaving. My crews face contorted in confusion, "You never know if that kid was my mate," I took a bite into my bacon before finishing up. I whistle down the hall sending everyone running. Usually when I whistle I'm extremely pissed off but I'm too happy to be pissed. I stopped by the Omega wing and where they usually gathered. Some omegas started to crawl all over me hoping to be my mate. In their dreams, my mate would never be so easily gotten I'm sure of it. They were all preparing to look their best for me. How pleasant of them to do so, I thought to myself before leaving them. Some of them whined when I left, "Just be ready for tonight," I winked at them and left. I was too jubilant for anything to get me down. That was until it was night.

*time skip to the night time*

I walk out in my best suit as I sit down on my chair eyeing the omegas that stepped into line. I saw an omega quaking either out of fear or hope. Maddox jabbed my side and directed my gaze to the window seeing the moon to be revealed. The omegas went up one by one.

"No.

Next.

No.

Nope.

It's not this one.

Oh god no," I recycled those words for 3 hours as I basically went through the entire kingdom of omegas. Maybe there were some who didn't want to show? Surely it was that...I have a mate. They're just not here is all. I looked out the door and saw another hallway full of them and shouted No to them all as some cried walking away. One even cursed me out and quickly apologized before scurrying away. I couldn't find my mate. I called Maddox into the room and filled him in.

"So my mate....isn't here."

Maddox blinked and held back a laugh, "I'm sorry what? Seriously? They aren't here?"
