A/N: I'm back with a new one.
"Oh, uh, Hi." Lauren said, taking Lucy's hand. " Nice to meet you. I've heard lots about you."
Lucy taken aback, smiles. " Really? Good things I hope."
" Yeah, all good things." Lauren responded smiling.
Lucy smiles again and lets go of Lauren's hand. " So saxophonist huh? Camila here told me you're a fast learner."
Lauren looked over at Camila, and grinned glowingly. " Really? Camila, I didn't know you were talking all this good about me."
Camila gave a glare towards Lucy, and then proceed to look over Lauren who seemed a bit too happy with the fact. She couldn't help but smile too and ran her hand through her hair.
" So I heard you're also auditioning to become Drum Major?" Lauren asked, as they followed Camila towards the living room.
Lucy shrugged and looked towards Lauren. " I mean, yeah. I hope I get it ya'know? I've been dedicated to this band for the longest, and just being able to lead it on my last year sounds about right to me. Plus, I got Camila with me so that makes it 10x better...kinda." She added the last word jokingly and received a shove from Camila herself.
" Whatever, you love me." Camila said.
" Eh, maybe. Though I'm starting to like Lauren better than you, she might take your place. "
Lauren looked over Camila with a smirk while giving off a wink, " Step up youngin'."
" So Lauren, tell me about yourself. Do you play any other instruments besides Alto now?" Lucy asked, sitting next to her on the Couch.
" Well, I play Violin. I've been playing for almost 6 years, so I guess I'm pretty good at it. Then there's piano, been playing that for 4 years."
" Oh, why didn't you join the orchestra band? Maybe it would of been kinda easier for you." Lucy asked.
" I don't know, I guess it was Camila that drawn me in." Lauren replied.
Camila, who was sitting on the other side almost spit out her drink at the response, heart racing in an alarming rate. Fortunately, the other 2 didn't notice, and kept on with the conversation as if Lauren didn't just bluntly say that.
" Well, we're glad to have you here. Right Camila?" Lucy asked, smirking towards the brunette.
The girl reminded herself to kill Lucy afterwards and proceeded to smile, " Most definitely, who wouldn't be?"
Lauren grinned at the response. " Thanks Camz."
Lucy rose her eyebrows and smirked towards Camila, who was obviously flustered. Lauren looked at Camila, with hint of concern in her eyes, " You alright? You're face is kinda red."
" I'm good, I was just choking on my drink, went through the wrong pipe."
-
" Is the trumpet hard?" Lauren asked.
" Hmm, it was kinda a struggle at first, but I got it down pretty quick. Wanna try?" Lucy says, handing the Trumpet to Lauren. The girl grabbed the trumpet excitedly and then hesitated.
" I don't even know what to do."
Lucy chuckled and helped position Lauren. " Well firstly, you gotta hold it right."
" Oh okay, shoot." Once Lauren got the position right, she tried to blow through it.
Nothing came out.
" Haha what the fuck. I can't do this." Lauren said.
" Ah woodwinds. Sooo used to those wooden reeds."
" Fuck off Lucy, you can't play a woodwind to save your life." Camila taunted.
" Well, cause firstly when I tried it, I got a cut on my tongue. Secondly, I don't like the taste of wood."
" So you like the taste of metal? Weeird."
" Shut up, you do too since to play brass too. Trying to side with Lauren huh?" Lucy taunted.
" Maybe." Camila said, leaning back to her chair twirling her drum sticks in her hands.
" Camila, you're so ga-" Lucy was caught off when a drum stick was heading her direction. Luckily she dodged it and began to laugh.
" Don't expose me you shit head." Camila said.
Lauren proceeded to take out her saxophone from her case, and puts on her neck strap. " I wanna see you play a woodwind."
" Eh, I really prefer not to. I can't already loose my cool in front of you newbie-" Lucy again was caught off when another drum stick darted towards her direction. " Holy fuck Camila, calm down. I'll play damn it."
Lauren handed the instrument towards Lucy and the neck strap as well. Once Lucy hooked the sax onto the neck strap, she let's it go and her neck jerks down. " I don't know how ya'll be doing this with all the weight on your neck. Shook."
She positioned herself awkwardly. " Am I holding this right?"
" No."
" Figured."
" You have to put your fingers on all 6 keys."
" Right."
When she did so, she only pressed the 4th key and tried to blow. Nothing.
" What the heck? Is this broken or something?"
" Well, the key you just pressed is not even a note." Lauren said. " Try pressing all the keys down."
Lucy rolled her eyes, and pressed the 6 keys down. When she blew, it squeaked so harshly, that even Camila, who is used to teaching new people and hearing them messed up, cringed and covered her ear.
" Damn Lucy, don't blow our ears."
Lucy glared at her and flicked her off at the process. " I'm done with this. I gotta head out anyways looser. Bye Canola. See ya around Lauren, it was great finally meeting you." She says as she hands Lauren the neck strap and sax.
" Bye." Lauren said, smiling.
Once Lucy left, it was Lauren and Camila sitting on the Sofa. And for the first time, Camila is the one who doesn't know what to say.
