April -

There was a stiff tension when Jeongguk lead the way towards the school building. He opened the door for her and leaned against the wall.

Byul was left standing awkwardly. Turning her head, she watched through the glass door. Everyone was whispering and staring.

Jeongguk cleared his throat and stood up tall. Turning his body, he leaned against the door instead. He blocked Byul and everyone else's vision.

"Now they won't be able to see us." He smiled kindly. "And you'll relax a little."

"I'm fine. Thank you." Byul blinked at the floor.

"Byul, is there something you want to tell me?" Jeongguk's voice echoed throughout the empty hallway.

"No, Jeongguk-sshi." Byul didn't dare lower her speech, not if he said it was alright.

He laughed and Byul's eyes traveled up. His smile was bright, eyes crinkled up. Byul was more admiring than staring. Jeongguk leaned forward and brushed off a loose eyelash off of Byul's cheek. Byul, on the other hand, stayed completely still and firm.

"Sorry, you had an eyelash." Jeongguk's mouth hung loosely while searching Byul's eyes. Byul saw that his were constantly moving, like trying to take in all of her up close. A shy smiled crept onto both of their faces. A light shade of pink rose against Byul's soft cheeks.

"Well, did you make a wish?" Byul asked jokingly.

"Yeah, I wished for you to say yes when I ask you to prom." Byul's heart raced then stopped completely. She was debating whether or not she heard him correctly. "Sorry, too sudden." He leaned back and Byul tried to distant herself from him by stepping backwards. In result, she stumbled back on her two feet. With quick movements, Jeongguk was able to keep her from falling by grabbing her arm, pulling her into him.

Jeongguk's back hit the door while he held Byul. Byul gasped from the sudden situation and regained herself. She got off him and brushed out her uniform skirt. "Thank you."

"No problem, wouldn't want you to go back to the nurse's office." Jeongguk tried his best to play cool, but Byul saw his quick breaths and red cheeks. He refused to look Byul in the eye. Then Byul realized, he was just as shy as she was.

"Jeongguk-sshi, I-"

"You can just call me Oppa or Jeongguk, which ever is fine. I'm not very big on the honorifics." Jeongguk rubbed the back of his neck.

"Oppa-" Jeongguk's heart fluttered. "-I think the whole reason we're talking right now is to confirm the rumor that has been floating around." And Jeongguk's heart fell.

"Rumor?" The disappointment on the sad boy's face was obvious.

"Oppa, I'm not sure how to tell you this.." Byul hesitated on telling him her true feelings. She didn't like him. You don't like him! Byul reminded herself. There was a tug on her heart when she saw how heartbroken he was.

"Here, Oppa will go first." Jeongguk exhaled slowly. "Byul, I like you, a lot."

"A-A lot?" Byul's plan came crashing down. Everything was in flames. She didn't mean for him to like her back. She only thought he would've felt flattered or something, not to the extent of actually having feelings for her.

"Yes. It only became a lot after I found out you liked me too. I came here to hear it from you, from your mouth. I didn't want to hear it from the stupid popular girls in my grade or the childish guys who always bully you." Jeongguk blinked away from Byul. His eyes trailing to the floor. "But, since you just said it was a rumor, I-"
