January -

"Annyeonghaseyo, halmeoni*. Thank you for buying the groceries and doing the laundry. I never seem to have time anymore." Jina smiled kindly at the sweet old lady.

"That's what neighbors are for. Besides, I need groceries myself, so I'm more than welcome to buy your share too."

"Thank you anyways." Jina shuffled around in her slippers, looking for her wallet.

"You two busy bees are always at work."

"Yeah, well, Jinki and I are over achievers." Jina laughed nervously.

"How have you two been lately? Has he proposed yet? You two lovebirds are such a match." The halmeoni asked.

Jina stopped and tried her best to fake a smile. "We're a bit accompanied by our jobs at this moment. But we have talked about settling down. Halmeoni, I'll be back. I'm going to check if my wallet is in the room."

The halmeoni nodded and Jina hurried into their shared bedroom. As she got to the door frame, her mind began whirling. Her legs became wobbly and her heart was being dragged down by a heavy weight.

She felt as if her eyes were going to pop from her skull. She heard her own heartbeat pounding at her ear drums. Her vision was blurred as she searched for the familiar white bottle.

But everything was too late, she lost balance and fell with a loud thud. Pain shot up her shoulder, then her spine. Jina wanted to scream, but nothing came out.

Finally, the world slipped away from her and everything was black.

December -

"Why are we even still together?" Jina asked to no one in particular, her voice echoing throughout the empty apartment complex. She gripped the photo frame in her hand, quick tears running down her small face.

In the picture, she was smiling alongside with her boyfriend of three years, Jinki. She could remember their first year very clearly - warm, tender, sweet.

Things haven't been the same since then. Jinki had found a steady job and Jina had been promoted. Because of this, the past two years had all been work, work, and more work. There wasn't enough time for each other, that or they never bothered to put effort into their relationship anymore. Jinki would always come home with bloodshot eyes, tired out of his mind. Jina would always come home 30 minutes after him and run straight to the bathroom to shower. Jinki ate alone, reheating the food Jina would prepare ahead of time before she left for work.

It was the same dinner every night - Jinki's favorite, or well, it use to be his favorite. After eating it constantly for two years, Jinki had grown tired of it. When someone gets use to something, they get tired with it and the same joy that was first found was no longer there. And that was exactly what remains of Jinki's and Jina's relationship.

The famous old love birds were now fed up and bored of each other.

So here was Jina, crying in their shared bedroom. She waited for Jinki to come out of the shower. She had somethings to discuss with him.

Right on cue, Jinki stepped through the door and Jina wiped up the wetness from her eyes. Dropping a couple of eye drops in her eyes, she blinked the redness away.

"Jinki-" Jina looked up to see a confused Jinki climbing into bed. "-How was work?"

"Why does it matter?" He turned his back to her.

"I need to talk to you about something." Jina cleared her throat. Jinki turned around and blinked blankly at her, his eyes traveling down her face.
