One day the light in her eyes blinked out
She was a ray of sunshine
A welcoming lighthouse guiding the hurt
But some boats coming in brought disease and pirates
Pirates that raided and ravaged
Disease that ate at her
Then the darkness over took her
That's when the light left
When she was far gone
With the light left her smile
A smile he missed
