She was beautiful. The way her eyes lit up when she talked, the passion burning in her eyes, it was just utterly beautiful. Her blue eyes were like deep oceans you could easily drown in. Her gorgeous blonde long hair was flowing down her back in beautiful curls. To Karlie Kloss Taylor Swift was simply the most beautiful human being that had ever walked the face of earth. She'd been harboring a secret crush on the other girl ever since Taylor had moved to St. Louis almost a year ago. And in all that time Karlie didn't have the courage to talk to the beautiful blond girl.

"What are you staring at?" Cara asked looking into the same direction as Karlie, trying to spot what had caught her friend's attention in the crowded cafeteria of their high school. She came up empty.

"Nothing, I just got lost in my thoughts," Karlie quickly replied, snapping out of her musings. She reluctantly shifted her gaze away from Taylor to look at Cara only to see that her friend was now staring at the girl she couldn't stop thinking about.

"Don't you think that this Taylor girl over there is totally weird?" Cara questioned.

"What are you talking about?" Karlie asked back, confused. Taylor had never been mentioned in a conversation ever before. Karlie had always assumed that no one besides her paid her any mind. Apparently she was wrong about that.

"I don't know. She never comes to any party, she's mostly alone except for the times she sits with Ed, she constantly has her nose in a book or she's writing in her journal. I really don't get her," Cara explained.

"Cara, not everyone's as outgoing as you are," Lily came to Taylor's defense before Karlie had the chance to say something. She was the only one Karlie ever told about her crush and she genuinely thought that Taylor was a sweet girl. She also didn't want to give Karlie the chance to say something and possibly reveal her feelings along the way. It wasn't that the tall brunette was ashamed of her feelings for Taylor or something along those lines, Karlie just didn't like talking about it and Lily knew that.

"I know but-"

"No but Cara, she's just shy and probably wants to keep to herself. There's nothing wrong with that," Lily said and Karlie shot her a grateful look.

All the things Cara mentioned about Taylor -all the things she thought were weird- were exactly the things that had drawn Karlie to Taylor in the first place. They were exactly the things Karlie liked so much about Taylor. In that moment the bell rang, signaling that lunch was over and when Karlie looked into Taylor's direction again, the blonde was already gone.

"Why don't you just go up to her and talk to her?" Lily asked her brunette friend as they walked to their shared English class, one of the few classes they had with Taylor. To say that Karlie was distracted in the classes she had with the blonde was an understatement. She couldn't focus in Taylor's presence and therefore heavily relied on the notes Lily took during class.

"I can't," Karlie replied, desperation evident in her voice.

"Why not? You're Karlie Kloss! You look gorgeous, you're a cheerleader, one of the most popular people in this school, you can bake, you are thoughtful and kind, do I need to go on? Everyone wants to date you," Lily laughed. They've had this very conversation multiple times in the past and she still couldn't understand why Karlie hasn't made a move already. She couldn't see what could go wrong for Karlie.

"Whenever I decide to talk to her I become a nervous wreck and maybe she isn't into girls," Karlie said. She absolutely did not like this situation she's been in for months now –ever since Taylor had walked past her in the hallway of their school at the beginning of senior year. Usually she was confident and definitely not scared of talking to people, but Taylor Swift was different.
