"What did she want?" Taylor tried her best not to get annoyed. She didn't want to get worked up over this. She had had an amazing day with Karlie. Why did her mother have to ruin such a beautiful day?

"She reminded me to send you to the new therapist tomorrow. And that surprised me because you've never said anything about it." Mrs. Sheeran was leaning against the kitchen doorway with her arms crossed in front of her. She was trying to make sense of the situation but she came up empty. Taylor had always told her about the important things going on in her life, or at least Imogen had thought she did.

"My mother who is doing her best to avoid me came here to say that?" Taylor asked as she took off her shoes. She tried her best to sound nonchalant but Mrs. Sheeran saw right through her. She could clearly detect the sadness and confusion in Taylor's voice.

"She did." Imogen nodded.

"Why?"

"She cares about you, Taylor. You're her daughter after all," Mrs. Sheeran replied.

Taylor let out a hollow laugh at that. "You're funny." Her voice was dripping with sarcasm.

Imogen was taken aback for a second. She was used to Taylor's constant use of sarcasm but in that moment it shocked her. Taylor sounded nothing but cold. She didn't sound like her usual bubbly self at all. "Taylor."

"Does she think that therapy is gonna make me straight again?" Taylor sneered.

"No, Taylor that's not why she set up the appointment. She promised that it wasn't anything like that. She's worried about your mental health."

"Wow now she cares about that?! My mental health is shit because of her! She's the one who won't talk to me until I'm straight again!" Taylor exclaimed. Her confusion and sadness were morphing into anger.

"Tay-"

"No, you know what? She won't talk to me. I tell her something really important about myself and she refuses to talk to me because of it. Mothers are supposed to love their child no matter what. But she doesn't love me anymore. She doesn't get a right to tell me what to do. She isn't my mother anymore!" Taylor yelled.

"She is always gonna be your mother, Tay. She is always going to love you. She may not show it at all right now but she did come here to say that. Her coming here has to count for something," Imogen reasoned. She hadn't thought that Taylor would be delighted to hear about her mom's visit but she also didn't anticipate Taylor reacting like this. She had never seen the teenager so outraged.

"Could you do to Ed what she did to me?" Taylor asked in a calm voice. The cold in Taylor's blue eyes made shivers run Mrs. Sheeran's spine.

"No, I don't think I could."

"See, that's the difference. You love your child, Andrea doesn't."

That was the second time Taylor had caught Imogen off guard. She had never expected Taylor calling her own mother by her first name to have so much power. It was probably the most powerful move she could've pulled. "She'll come around, Taylor. I know-"

"You know what?" Taylor turned around and walked into the direction of the guest bedroom she was staying in, "I honestly don't give a shit anymore. I've had such a great day, maybe even the best day ever, but then she came and ruined it. I really don't want to give a shit anymore."

"It's not as easy as that," Mrs. Sheeran called after her.

"I know. Maybe my therapist can show me how not to give a fuck." Taylor slammed the door behind her. She was done.

Karlie was feeling the happiest she had ever been on the way home from Ed's place. It was crazy to Karlie just how in love with Taylor she was. Karlie had known that she was in love with Taylor for a long while. It felt inevitable to her in some way. Taylor was inevitable. From the moment she had found the girl crying under the bleachers, Karlie had known deep down that it would lead to this. Still there were moments in which she was completely overcome with so much love and adoration for the other girl. It felt like her feelings were coming in waves. In some moments she felt completely normal and in the next she had the biggest smile on her face simply because Taylor Swift existed.
