"Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss, what brings my two favorite lovebirds here of all places?"

"Oh, shut up, Kimby," Karlie laughed, "We just want to eat some ice cream in peace."

"You two can join us if you want," Taylor offered as she looked from Kimby to Kariann.

"Oh no, we don't wanna interrupt anything," Kariann replied. She had always been the more considerate twin.

"You're not," Karlie said.

"You sure?" Kariann asked, "You don't have to waste your precious time with us."

Karlie couldn't help but feel like her sister's comment was an unintentional jab at their relationship deadline. The time she had with Taylor was definitely precious. They didn't know what their lives would look like at the end of the summer. Hell, they didn't know what it would look like when the first acceptance letters would roll in in May. What if Karlie got into NYU? What if Taylor got into UCLA? Would they live on opposite ends of the country? What would that even look like? Would they be able to make it work? Wouldn't it be smarter to break up if they were living that far apart?

Taylor threw a confused glance at her girlfriend when she didn't say anything. "I want to get to know you two better so really it's no waste of time," Taylor assured Kariann, her eyes never leaving Karlie. What is she thinking about?

"Well, we can't say no to that can we, Kari?" Kimby was already placing her bag on the ground next to the chair opposite of Karlie.

"Nope, we can't," Kariann as she took the seat next to her twin, "Oh and Taylor, I just read something about Hamilton that I need to show you!" Kariann added. She and Taylor had gotten along amazingly when Karlie had brought Taylor home to meet the twins. She remembered the great conversations she had had with Taylor about music. It was rare to meet someone with the same taste in music especially when you avoided most music that was overplayed on the radio.

"It's all further proof that Lin-Manuel Miranda is a damn genius!" The excitement in her little sister's voice dragged Karlie out of her thoughts. She loved that her sister and her girlfriend were passionate about the same things. She always felt like Kariann didn't have anyone to share her love for Broadway musicals and bands like Panic! At the Disco with, but with Taylor she had found someone who was just as passionate as she was.

"You theater nerds," Karlie said with an eye roll.

"Hey, you be quiet with your ones and zeros and whatever," Taylor shot back with a raised eyebrow, a challenging expression on her face.

"I rest my case," Karlie raised her hands in mock-defeat.

Kariann looked from Taylor to Karlie and shook her head with a smile on her face before she opened her bag.

"It's my treat," Karlie said when she saw Kariann reaching for her wallet.

"Why?" Kimby asked, suspicion in her voice.

"Can't your older sister treat you to some ice cream from time to time?"

"She can but she normally doesn't," Kariann pointed out.

"Taylor, whatever you're doing to our sister, please keep doing it."

"Shut up," Kariann scolded her twin when she saw Taylor blushing. She didn't want her sister's girlfriend to feel uncomfortable around them already.

"Here's my wallet," Karlie said and handed the wallet over.

"Thank you very much," the twins said in unison.

"They can be a little creepy sometimes," Karlie laughed once her sisters had walked up to the counter.

"I like them," Taylor smiled. She enjoyed seeing Karlie and her sisters together. They were way closer than she and Austin were. At times she felt a pang of jealousy when she was around Karlie and her sisters or she heard Karlie talking about her family. It made her wonder what her life would be like if she had grown up like that. If she had grown up in a happy home. If she had grown up in a home with two loving parents. Maybe she wouldn't need to see a therapist then.
