Hey peeps. I'll be showing you how to make a super simple, minimalistic cover.

It's really easy, all you are doing is adding fonts to a background. You need zero skill to do this.

What you will need:
- an aesthetically pleasing background image

1. Open up an image that is 512x800, since that is the size of a wattpad cover.

2. Go to add photo and place your background. You can go to adjust and edit it if you want or do it prior to this step in another app.

Click apply and save it.

3. Open Phonto and add your title.

Use Helvetica Bold Oblique or Helvetica Neue Bold Italic in lowercase letters for the title. These fonts are commonly used in Tumblr posts.

Use Helvetica Light Oblique for the author.

Phonto already has these fonts preinstalled so you don't need to download anything.

I recommend the font size of the title to be anywhere between 1.10 and 1.40.

Here are a few variations of how you can do your title:

- an opaque white background just around the title with the font being a colour from the background image.

- an opaque white background horizontally running across the cover with the font being black

- the title is typed more than once in white with a solid black shadow

This style of making covers works bests with shorter titles. The authors name The should also not too visible or big because the main focus needs to be the title or image.

Although short titles work best, you can still make a longer title work.

You can easily make a theme for your books with this style.
