Chapter 19: Revealing the Truth

Yukari: HEY! WAIT UP!

Yukari's high-pitched voice echoes through the silent night. The night is still young but there is no one in their vicinity. This is most probably because the area is dimly lit and it reeks of alcohol and cigarettes. The buildings are tall and covered with moss. This place looks like it was abandoned and haunted, but they know that isn't the case. If so, they wouldn't be here in the first place.

There are a few rusted signboards on the ground. Most of the streetlights seem to be dysfunctional. Only a few broken lights are turned on. Their journey is mostly guided by the moonlight. Minato is walking in front of the others. Surprisingly, he actually knows the way. Despite being called out by Yukari, he did not stop at all nor did he turn back to take a look.

Out of the blue, Minato takes a sharp turn to the right. The other SEES members follow him like ducklings following their mother duck. They see a small area in front of them. It was an enclosed space with no roof so the dark sky can be clearly seen. There is a metal door at the far back, probably the back door of some bar or night club.

There are several men and women gathered in that area, probably around 20 people altogether.  Some of them are lying and sitting on the floor while smoking who-knows-what. A few groups of people are standing at random places and talking loudly. Their discussions are incomprehensible. It definitely looks like a place where you do not want to be in unless you're trying to get information about a new party member. How convenient.

A man with a piercing of a chain connecting his nose and ears notices Minato's presence. He is frowning. Either he is really pissed off or he has been holding in his diarrhoea. After glaring at Minato who is walking closer, he starts talking to his friends again.

Man with frown: Hey, who the hell are they?

Another guy: Seriously? Uniforms?

Random girl: Aren't those Gekkoukan High School uniforms?

Junpei and Minako are getting uncomfortable from all the sudden attention from the strangers. One by one, the people stop talking and turn to inspect them as they walk. Cold sweat trickles down Junpei's forehead as he glances around. Yukari remains calm and confident.

Junpei: This is bad! Worse than I imagined!

Yukari: Junpei! Stop gawking!

Junpei: I can't help it!

Man with diarrhoea?: I think you took a wrong turn somewhere. Why don't you make a U-turn and get the hell outta here, huh!?

Another guy: Having you around just kills the mood! Go home, Goatee!

Junpei: G-Goatee? Oh, y-you mean me.

Yukari: Why do we need YOUR permission to be here?!

Minako: Yukari! SHHH!

Junpei: H-Hey! Are you nuts!? Take a look around you!

As Yukari says that, she hides herself behind Minato. He is already holding his sister's hand tightly just in case things get rough.

Yukari: I'm not blind, you know.

Minako: Um.. Yukari, if you're so confident then why are you hiding?

Yukari: Well uh.. I mean... Who's side are you on, Minako-chan?

Minako: *sweat drops* I'm just stating the truth hehehe... I'm scared too, you know?

Yukari: Come on, don't be intimidated by this SCUM!

Scum with diarrhoea?: What was that!?
