Song to the side
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gasping awake the world was upside down I looked to my right where Elena was being dragged out by Benjamin the man was bruised bleeding from a cut on his eyebrow also lip. I struggled with the seat belt that restricted me, but it wouldn't budge.
I searched for the dagger I gave to Elena it must have flown out of her pocket when the truck flipped over, the front window was cracked pushed out where it just needed a kick to be pushed out. Everything was hurting flaring in pain begging to bandage the aches that were crying, cradling for softness that will never come.
Noticing that the dagger was on the dashboard I reached over to it ignoring the throbbing that ached in my shoulder, "Shit." I heard from Benjamin.
Flipping the dagger open I begin cutting the seat belt that was holding me upside down, it was beginning to feel hot in the car which only increased the speed along with the tire tracks of cars rumbling nearer, there was the panic of fear reaching where it was becoming real for the both of us.
Once the seat belt was cut I slipped on the floor hard groaning I crawled out the passenger window dusting the broken glass out of my way, feeling a pair of hands pulling me out the glass scraped my clothing. I crawled over to Elena whose unconscious, she was breathing, but was knocked out due to the hit.
Looking up we a few yards away from the border we could see the stretch of it that signaled for hope the bridge that we needed to cross, "Take her." I told Benjamin struggling to get to my feet.
"Fuck, where are they?" I was confused for a moment, but it didn't last long once he took her without a hint of an argument he hugged her close his feet carrying her while he ran with every strength he had left.
Running right behind them I can hear the men chasing after us I put a shield around Benjamin and Elena, "There's nowhere to hide Charlotte." He yelled.
My legs burned to carry me as far as they can burning lungs were begging for oxygen we needed to reach the border to have Elena cross: Safe Haven was waiting for our arrival, turning around I pushed my hands forward giving space between us and the men chasing us.
Benjamin stood in place using a forcefield to block the force I was using to push his soldiers back, we stared at one another those burning eyes burned into mine while the courage I held burned right through his, "If you won't help me give me the girl." He screamed anger filling his voice.
"You'll have to kill me first." Matt persisted forward blocking my telekinesis with ease.
"Don't you understand, this world is dying and your willing to let it die over a girl. We don't have time to play sentiments, Charlie, this is a cold world there are children suffering-dying. Think of the bigger picture for once." He explained while also yelling.
The memories flooded back to the day that I allowed Katherine to die while she sacrificed to protect us to buy more time; this world was dying years of humankind draining it use it's natural resource until there was none left, but maybe it was better that we allowed it to die to learn from this.
This was bigger than the both of us we wanted the same thing, but I knew exact consequences it was going to have on Elena; she was going to have needles in her arms while being used to sufficient this earth, but she will die every one of us that was tested will die if we ever overuse our powers or not.
