Chapter 6

The Aether awakens us. The Convergence returns.

Jane is unconscious and I'm freaking out. Why is this happening what's going on? Then I close my eyes for a second trying to calm down and when I open them Jane and I are outside of the building. She's awake and standing next to me. What the hell?

"Jane! Lady! Where the hell were you?" Darcy asked.

"Tell me you didn't call the police?" Jane said. I looked around just noticing the cops.

"Well what was I supposed to do?" Darcy asked.

"Not call the police?" Jane said.

"I've been freaking out!" Darcy said.

"You call the cops, they call the Feds. Next thing you know we have SHIELD crawling all over, "area-51-ing" the place." Jane said. I rolled my eyes. "We had a stable gravitational anomaly! We had unimpeded access! Our only competition was ten years old!"

"Jane! You were gone for five hours!" Darcy said.

"What?" I asked. Jan and Darcy stared at each other and then it starts to rain. But it's not raining on us. "That's weird." Jane held out her hand, but no rain will fall on her. I try the same thing but my hand gets wet.

Then there's a big flash of light, I covered my eyes and when I could see again there stood Thor. "Typical." Darcy said.

Jane walked over to Thor, I followed. I don't want to get wet. "Jane..." Thor says. Maybe I should leave them alone... Then Jane slaps Thor. And maybe not.

"Sorry, I just needed to make sure you were real. It's been a very strange day." Jane says.

"I am. Jane I.." Thor tries, but she slaps him again. It took all of my control not to burst out laughing.

"Where were you?" Jane demanded.

"Where were you? Heimdall could not see you." Thor asked.

"I was right here where you left me. I was waiting, and then I was crying, and then I went out looking for you... You said you were coming back!" Jane said angrily.

"I know, I know. But the Bifrost was destroyed. The Nine Realms erupted into chaos; wars were raging, marauders were pillaging... I had to put an end to the slaughter." Thor tried to explain.

"As excuses go, it's not... terrible. But I saw you on TV, you were – you were in New York!" Jane said. I just watched, this reminded me of the old days.

"Jane I fought to protect you from the dangers of my world but.. I was wrong. I was a fool. But I believe that Fate bought us together. Jane I don't know where you were or what happened, but I do know this." Thor said.

"What?" Jane asked dreamily.

"I know.."

"You do?"

"Do what?"

"What?"

Then they lean towards each other about to kiss. This is awkward, Darcy save me! "Hey! Is this you?" Darcy asks gesturing at the rain.

"Uh, we're kinda in the middle of something here." Jane said.

"Um, I'm pretty sure we are getting arrested." I said looking at the police.
