Can's POV

As I started backing away from Tin, I looked around me. There was no one around except Tin and me. Everyone else was in the water.

If I cried for help loud enough, some of my friends would surely hear me.

With three big strides Tin reached me and grabbed me by the waist and pulled me to his chest. I was still all wet because I just came out of the water. I was getting his shirt and pants all wet.

The heat from his hand was searing the bare skin on my back.

"I take back my words, I take back my words!" I said in a panic.

Of course my plea fell on deaf ears.

He placed one hand on the side of my neck.

I instinctively closed my eyes as his face came closer and closer to mine.

His lips had barely touched my mouth when.....

"What's going on here?"

Tin let go of me and we both turned to see Jade, her hands on her hips, demanding to know just what was going on between Tin and me.

"He was checking some dirt that got into my eye," I said.

At the exact same time, Tin said, "I was just about to kiss him. Go away."

"Whom should I believe?" Jade asked.

"Me," Tin and I said at the same time.

In frustration, Jade grabbed my arm and started to lead me back to the water.

"Not so fast, sweetheart," said Tin, grabbing my other arm.

I had to make a quick decision. Tin or Jade? Jade or Tin?

I looked from one to the other.

I turned to Jade.

"Can you give me a few minutes?" I asked her. "I just need to settle a few things with him and then I will go and join you in the water, okay?"

Jade pouted at me.

"Don't take too long," she finally said.

"I won't," I said to her, "I promise."

"No, Tin," I said as Tin tried to continue where we left off before Jade interrupted us.

"But I want to drink some beer and you want me to pay for it," he reminded me.

"I changed my mind," I said.

"Why, because your precious Jade is watching us from the water right now with eagle eyes?" Tin asked with a bitter smile.

"First of all, she's not my precious Jade," I started to say.

"It doesn't look that way to me," he said, "not with her acting all possessive towards you, and not with your hands all over her when you are with her in the water."

"Tin," I said in frustration, "why am I even trying to explain the situation to you."

I turned around to go back and join Jade and Malee in the water.

"I would like to pay for the beer anyway," said Tin from behind me, and before I could stop him, his warm moist mouth was on mine.

My brain was telling me to push him away, but my body wanted me to stay. I found myself giving him back kiss for kiss.

My arms that initially were hanging on either side of me were starting to find their way around his back. My hand traveled to his neck just a little behind his ear. I clutched at his hair just above his nape. I could feel his strong heartbeat pounding against my chest. My nipples started to harden.

"You lied to me!"

Tin and I sprung apart when we heard Jade's sharp cry.

I was speechless with confusion. I did not know what to say to Jade.

"Make up your mind, Can," Tin suddenly spoke up, "is it me or is it Jade?"

I turned to look at Jade. She was looking back at me with a very hurt and disappointed look, as if she already knew beforehand who I was going to choose.

I looked down at my feet, burying part of them in the soft white sand.
