Rylan's POV
"Matthew...?"
He uses his sleeve to wipe the tears from his eyes and shoves his hand in his pockets. I place and hand on his shoulder and lead him to the waiting area. We take a seat across from eachother.
"What's wrong?" I ask him.
"M-My girlfriend m-missing." He stutters, tears staining his cheeks.
"You have a girlfriend?" He has a girlfriend? I mean he's a good looking guy, but I never knew he had a girlfriend.
"Yeah... we've been dating for a year now. Today was our aniversary, and we were going to stay at this hotel together, but when I got back to our room, she was gone, and there was a note." Matt explains.
"Can I see it?" I aks him and he nods sadly, handing it to me.
It says:
Hello, old friend. Well, I don't really find ourselves as friends, considering you stole my girlfriend three years ago, but I want to sound nice. I know it was so long ago, you know, when you stole her from me. But, I still hold a grudge. We were bestfriends man. Why did you do this? It felt like you had just stabbed me in the back, three years ago. It hurts. And it still does. Remeber when you apologized to me and wanted to become friends again? Yeah, me neither, because it never happened.
I stopped reading and looked at Matt, "Who is this?"
"An old friend of mine. Jace. Now, keep reading." He demanded.
So I kept reading:
But, I do remember when I told you that I would get revenge. And I kept the promise. You know I never break my promises. So I took the knife out of my back and I am now returning it back to its owner. You stole my girlfriend, so I stole yours. Litterally. Pretty good revenge right? Don't worry, we are having a great time. So don't worry one bit. See ya soon!
Your friend,
Jace.
"This is terrible." I hand the note too Matt and give him a look of sympathy.
"It's my fault. I should've of stole his girlfriends a few years back. I was young and just had become a vampire. I controlled her mind." Matthew admitted.
"Like you said, you were young. I understand that. He's just acting stupid." I tell him.
"I guess." Matthew sniffs, "Anyways, why are you here?"
"Uhh, Nash and I-"
"Are ya'll dating?" Matthew asks sitting up straighter.
"No, no no no. We are just here because Cam-"
"Rylan c'mon! We're checked in!" Nash shouts.
I look at Matt and stand up, "Ill tell you later. Good luck with your girlfriend. Call me tomarrow."
I start to walk off but he grabs my hand and makes me face him again, "Can you help me? You know look for her?"
I sigh and look at the ground, " I don't know, I have a lot of stuff going on right now."
"Please." He beg squeezing my hand tighter and I see his eyes water up.
"O-okay..." I give in smiling a little.
"RYLAN!"
I jump and turn toward Nash who is standing there impatiently. I guess he's really stressed. I ran over toward him and Katie, but I was sure to wave good bye too Matt before hand. We get into the elevator and settle into the room, even though we didn't have any extra clothes.
*
Later that night, I was sitting on the bed beside Nash's playing with my nails. I was thinking about everything that has happened this week.
"What's wrong?" I heard Nash ask, which snapped out of my thoughts.
"Just thinking." I told him sighing heavily.
"About?"
"Everything. You getting stabbed, Cameron running away, Matthew." I layed down on the bed and starred up at the ceiling.
"Matthew? What's wrong with Matthew?" Nash asks turning to face me.
"I'll tell you later. Or maybe he will." I don't really feel like explaining the whole thing.
He nods and grabs the remote, turning on the TV. I cant stand hotel tv's. I can never find the channel I'm looking for. My stomach makes this weird whale noise and Nash looks at me laughing.
"I'll order something to eat." He tells me, taking out his phone and walking out into the hallway.
I walk out onto the balcony, looking at all of the street lights and cars below me. I take out my iPhone and take a couple pictures of the scenery in from of my. Looking at the world in front of me just makes me feel like I'm flying. Like, I'm away from all of the trouble that's been happening since I moved in with Nash and Cameron.
I look down at the street below me and see someone running from multiple guys holding gun. I run back into the hotel room and grab my glasses, then run back out and look closer.
"HELP!"
I heard him scream over and over. I don't know why I did this. I don't even know of Vampires could do this. But I just felt the need to do something, and not just stand and watch. So without thinking, I did the first thing that came to mind. It was the only thing I could so to get me down there faster.
I jumped. And we were on the fifth story of the hotel.
