*^* Katsuki's P.O.V *^*
Walking back from school was surprisingly peaceful. That's not what annoyed me the most, though. It's been eating away at me all week. The one question that keeps snagging at my skin, trying to claw its way through my brain. 'Where's Deku?' All week, I haven't seen his mop of hair anywhere. His friends have tried to text and call him, but, to no avail. Now the class is in a fit of worry. They keep nagging and nagging, trying to figure out why Deku hasn't been at school. It's f*cking annoying. I went by his house two days ago when the panic started to rise, but, he wasn't home. Inko was frantically looking around, eyes red from crying. It's total mayhem. That nerd's gonna be the death of everyone soon. I heave out a sigh as I kicked a lone cab down an alleyway.
*Clank"What the..." I peered down the dark alley, seeing nothing thanks to the black shadows that lined the pathway.
I decided to venture down, taking out my phone and turning on flashlight. I almost dropped it at the sight in front of me. I covered my mouth as I started to gag, gaze lingering.
"I-I-Izuku...?"
Blood lay splattered everywhere, sharp rocks and small polls sticking out of his bent arms and legs. A knife stuck right through his chest, aimed for his heart. I collapsed to my knees, staring in horror at the cold, lifeless body of my childhood friend. My gaze trailed down, seeing a note stuffed in his pocket. I steadily stood up, slowly stepping closer to the body I leaned down as I grabbed the note, dragging it out of his pocket. Blood stained the tips of the paper as I folded it back out. My gaze trailed down the letter, taking in all the words. A drop of water fell onto the paper. Another. And another. Tears were rolling down my face, staining my cheeks and the paper. I let them fall.
"What did I do...?" I murmured, folding the note and placing it in my pocket as I stared down at Izuku. 'His friends are gonna wanna know.'
I grabbed my phone again and snapped a picture before walking off, glancing back one last time. I wiped away the tears as I walked. I stopped by Inko's place, knocking on the door. I heard frantic footsteps coming closer till the door burst open.
"Katsuki? What's wrong?" She asked, trying to force on a smile.
"You're not going to like this..." I took in a deep breath, closing my eyes. "I-Izuku's... d-dead..."
I opened my eyes, seeing a fountain of tears draining out of her eyes. She fell to her knees as she cried, letting out large sobs as she clutched her heart. I kneeled down beside her, bringing her into a comforting hug as I rubbed circles in her back. We stayed like that for about 20 minutes till she finally calmed down. I told her where his body was as I walked off, waving to her as she left to find her son's body. I reached my house and ventured in, walking over to the living room. I sat down as the hag entered.
"What's got you down, Katsuki?" She asked, sitting next to me.
I looked up at her, explaining the whole situation. After I finished, she sped out of the house, hopping in her car as she drove off to find Inko. I heaved out a heavy sigh as I walked up to my room. I opened my phone as I collapsed in my bed, going into the group chat Denki made.
5:48 Me> Hey, uh, I have bad news... just a heads up for what I'm about to send...
I sent the photo before turning it off and setting it down on my bedside table. I rolled over on my side as I felt new tears forming. That night, I cried myself to sleep...
*2 weeks later, night*
My eyes shot open to knocking on my window. I sat up, peeling the blinds back as my eyes adjusted to the darkness. I opened the window slightly, seeing a figure dressed in black hanging from a tree.
"Thanks for opening. Can I come in? Please?" They asked, looking over at me through a fox mask.
My tired self accepted, opening the window more as I pulled them in. They shut the window as they sat down on my bed, breathing out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you for that. I wasn't expecting to be found so quickly." They said.
"No worries... wait. Found? Are you on the run?" I asked.
"Sorta. You see, I kinda ran from my new home and stole all their money after getting into a big argument with them." They replied with a chuckled at the end.
"You're not a villain, are you?" That was probably the most stupid question I could've asked in my state.
"N-no! I recently found out these guys were villains themselves, so that's apart of the reason I left. But, I also wanted to find someone."
"Who?"
"Well... it seems I already did..."
I tilted my head in confusion. They turned to me, grabbing their mask that hid their face. They pulled it off, causing a silent gasp to escape my lips. Bright, green eyes stared into my crimson red ones. Before I could react, they placed their lips on mine. My face heated up as I stared wide-eyed at the person who was suppose to be dead. They parted, a smirk plastered on their face.
"Hey Kacchan. Did ya miss me?"
