____I'm not fragile
I am not weak
She tells herself.
A mantra repeated
Not to be believed in,
But to give her a sense
A feeling of control
Control over the chaos she calls her life.
I'm not fragile
I am not weak
She is silent,
But her mind is screaming.
She wants to be strong.
She will be strong.
I'm not fragile
I am not weak
She is crying now
Silver rivers streaming down her cheeks
I'm not fragile
I am not weak
She feels lost
She is slipping away.
I'm not fragile
I am not weak
She wants to shatter.
Then another voice fills her head.
She is horrified as malicious laughter
Trills with delight
Oh sweetheart,
I've seen
Even broken glass put up a harder fight.
