Hizashi hummed a silly pop tune as he washed out his long blond hair in the shower, running his fingers along the messy array of now fading yellow and blue that stained his skin, wincing slightly at the dull pain. There were still some darkening marks, fresh, left by the raven's fingers, but Hizashi didn't mind those. He grinned, chuckling to himself as he turned off the water and grabbed his towel, moving to grab some clean clothes...
....he didn't have any left.
The bag that Aizawa had grabbed for him while he was in the hospital was empty, the only thing left inside were a pair of socks he didn't like.
"Shoot...I have to do laundry..." He sighed, standing in his towel as he moved to try and find something out of Aizawa's closet. "He won't mind..."
He searched through the rows of black shirts, long and short, different patterns, sweaters and jackets, including what looked like...
The blond's eyes widened as he pulled out an old U.A. jumpsuit, still in almost perfect condition, a scrap of paper sticking out of the pocket. He stared at it, seeing a small scribble of something in the corner, his heart racing as he slipped the scrap out and unfolded it, a grin growing on his face as his heart clenched.
It was a picture of him and Aizawa on the day Hizashi left for his two-year internship in America. Younger Hizashi had his arm slung around Aizawa's slim shoulders, a grin on his face as he held the black haired boy close to him, one hand held in a peace sign, blush scattered across his face. Aizawa was smiling a little, his head resting against Hizashi's shoulder slightly, his fingers barely showing in the too big sleeves of his favorite cat pattern sweater, a small red streak glowing across the bridge of his nose and shadows under his eyes. A heart and stars was drawn around the two of them in bright red ink, their names scrawled in Hizashi's all capital writing.
AIZAWA SHOTA AND YAMADA HIZASHI, BEST FRIENDS AND FUTURE HEROES!!!!!
Hizashi stared at his writing, remembering the day he had given the photo to Aizawa, as his heart beat faster his grin growing.
"I'll miss you, Sho-chan!!! I can't leave without saying goodbye to you!!!!" Hizashi whined, his arms wrapped around Shota's shoulders as he hugged him from behind, burying his face in his soft and feathery black hair. They were in the airport, Hizashi standing in the terminal with a packed suitcase, his eyes shining with tears at the thought of being away from his best friend.
They had never been apart before.
Shota blushed, pushing him off and giving him one of his rare Smiles.
"Don't worry, Zashi-chan. Your going to be the best hero, I'm sure of it."
"Yeah but why can't you come with me I don't want to go without you!!!!" He cried dramatically in typical Hizashi fashion, pulling Shota close again. Shota sighed, pushing the blond away with a blush.
"Jeez. Pull yourself together Yamada. Your 19. We're to old for this."
Hizashi sniffed, wiping his eyes. Aizawa was right. He shouldn't be crying because he's leaving. He and Shota already agreed to stay in contact as often as they could, and they would meet up as soon as Hizashi got back, but he was still so scared the raven haired teen would forget about him. He couldn't handle the thought of losing someone he's known since preschool and had come to rely in as much as Shota relied on him.
The idea of being apart hurt them both, but they tried to accept the fact they had to leave one another, one alone in Japan and the other whisked off to America, for a reason neither fully understood at the moment. They just focused on the pain of saying goodbye to the only one they had ever trusted and loved more than anything. Shota sighed softly, holding out a hand to Hizashi, a small smile on his face and a hint of sadness in his tired voice.
