Enji smirked, pushing the short and thin teenager against the wall of the damp alley, his two goons laughing at the soft whimper Shota had emitted as the bruises on his back collided with the harsh stone. He grit his teeth, sinking a little as his vision blurred, spitting out a mouthful of blood and glaring at the larger boy in front of him.

"Th-that all you got?" He rasped, his voice laced with defiance. Enji smirked, the flames on his arms casting a sinister red orange glow over the darkened and empty street.

"Oh, your gonna WISH that's all I had, shorty. And this time, that bastard Yamada isn't here to save you."

Shota grit his teeth, refusing to make a sound as his body was thrown to the dirty pavement. Enji laughed, giving him a sharp kick to the stomach and watching as the black haired boy curled up slightly, still refusing to make a sound.

"Aw, get up you worthless brat! I'll show you what happens when quirk-less wannabes try to get into the hero course!"

Shota grit his teeth, his bloodshot black eyes watering a little at the corners as he pushed himself up shakily, wiping at the blood that began to leak from the corner of his mouth.

"I-im...not...q-quirkless...and I'm going to be a hero!" He rasped, struggling to his feet and glaring defiantly up at Enji, his long black hair falling into his bruised eyes. "I'll be a greater hero than you'll ever be! You don't scare me, Todoroki!"

Enji growled, the fire along his arms burning a darker red color as he towered over the shorter boy menacingly. Shota didn't even flinch, just glared back as his eyes glowed red, his hair starting to shift and rise as the flaming boy's fist collided with his jaw. He stumbled, regaining his balance as adrenaline pumped through him, his legs moving without his knowledge as he launched himself back at Enji, managing to land a kick to what Shota hoped was his diaphragm.

Enji gasped, the pain quickly turning to anger as he grabbed the shorter boy by his hair, yanking him back and  effectively immobilizing him. Shota cried out, gritting his teeth as Enji smashed his head against the wall roughly, causing the world to tilt as his vision blurred and his knees gave out. He sank down to the payment with a groan, his head pounding and tears in the corners of his eyes.

Shota attempted to stand again, but Enji kicked him back down each time, until finally the raven haired boy just couldn't bring himself to fight anymore. It burned him up to just lay there and take the abuse Enji continued to inflict, but there was nothing he could do anymore. He couldn't move, his head was spinning and his mouth tasted like rusty metal, bruises blossoming across his pale skin as the taller boy continue to kick him, cursing and screaming insults about how Shota was to weak to even dream about ever being a pro hero.

He grit his teeth, refusing to let a sound slip from his lips, knowing if he did Enji would just kick him harder and the jeering would get worse. He could take it, this had happened so many times before, worse and worse over the years but Shota had bore it all without a sound, ever since they started elementary school. Enji finally stopped, reaching down and pulling Shota up by his hair, glaring right into the boy's bruised black eyes with a growl.

"You will NEVER beat me and you will never be a hero, you got that, you undersized bastard? You'll never get into UA, cause why would they take you when they could have someone like me?"

Shota glared, working up a large mouthful of saliva and blood before spitting it directly into Enji's face. The taller boy growled, wiping the affront away and smashing Shota's head against the ground with several more insults and curses. The raven haired boy smirked as pain shot through his skull, causing his vision to black out for a few moments as Enji delivered another sharp kick to his chest and stalked away, leaving Shota's broken and bruised body huddled alone in the alley way.
