servants! servants!
as fast as the wind
bring me my turban and sherwani!
come! faster! stop wasting time!
it is my wedding day and i cannot wait!
maids. maids.
spare me a minute
and let me breathe.
come. sit. listen to me.
it is my wedding day and my last day as your mistress.
master! master!
as fast as the tiger,
we have brought your turban and sherwani!
come! come! your father awaits
and your guests are growing impatient!
mistress. mistress.
what troubles you so?
you will have a new husband who is both rich and coy.
come. come. mistress dear.
it is your wedding day and you should be filled with glee.
servants! servants!
start the ceremony,
and bring my bride to me at once!
go! go! take the bricks off of your feet!
you are as slow as deep sea slugs!
maids. maids.
must i go?
this is not even of true love.
sigh. leave. be gone.
i want to stay a while longer if the gods will allow.
master! master!
your father-in-law awaits!
the clock's hands are sprinting at the speed of light!
hurry! hurry! your guests grow weary
and are starting to get quite hungry!
mistress. mistress.
we understand your pain.
but it is for your own future and that of your family.
apologies. apologies. but, your relatives request
that you bless them with your radiant presence.
servants! servants!
do you hear that deathly tune?
that screeching sound of doom?
never mind! never mind! go and prepare and
my wedding feast!
maids. maids.
be still and lend an ear.
do you hear that melody?
my. my. how sweet the sound.
how wonderful is the song that brings my spirit joy.
master? master?
what is this tune that you hear?
we have been standing still and still no sound!
by the gods! by the gods! look at the time!
we must hurry to your wedding ceremony!
mistress? mistress?
what melody do you speak of?
the only song that we hear, is the song of mockingbirds.
dear. dear. you must move on.
enough of this childish game and come with us.
the master and the mistress
did not hear their warnings.
each one followed the melodies
that led them to two forests.
one of gold and one of coal.
the master stumbled upon a creature
so foul and dark.
a flute made of skin and bone played its tune
so deathly and shallow.
screeching an eerie song.
the mistress came across a creature
so bright and light.
a flute made of golden jewels played its tune
so sweet and soft.
singing a joyful melody.
the dark creature stared into the eyes of the master
empty and deep.
the skin-bone flute swept the master off his feet.
no cry nor scream
just the crimson red tears.
the brilliant creature stared off into the distance.
confusion filled her mind and so, she turns.
the golden flute turned into a dazzling young woman.
her eyes filled with tears as she rushed to her love.
lips met and arms entangled.
looking over the ocean blue horizon,
the mistress and her love's hands intertwined.
as they walked towards the gleaming dusk,
their voices cried out:
'free! free! free at last!'
