Chapter 4: A Run Away Boy

I woke up in the middle of the night. I thought to myself if I really liked him these past few months. I put on my slippers and went to the fridge for some water. *DING* Who must that be? I looked at my phone.
"Y/n? Are you up right now?"
Sunwoo? Why is he up this late texting me?
"What do you want?"
"I've thought you'd be awake. I just wanted to say thank you for everything."
"What do you mean?"
"Changing me by helping me change my perspective of seeing how life is. I'll meet you again. Goodnight."
"Sunwoo?"
What is he up to? I have to go find him. I rushed to the bus stop and drove to his place. I knocked on the door but there was no answer. I looked through the windows. It was pitch dark and I heard a crash. "Please don't be Sunwoo." I said to myself as I rushed to where the accident had happened. I went there and I saw three cars that was ruined. The people came out and I didn't see Sunwoo. "HELP! My son is still in there!!" A lady shouted. My heart was beating faster and faster. Once they got him out I couldn't see him clearly. I rushed in the group and looked. I began to cry. I was so shocked and relieved, I fell on the floor. I didn't care how much people stared at me. Sirens were going on and people were around.
"Y/n..."
I looked up and saw Sunwoo. I ran into his arms and cried. "Sunwoo.. I thought you were dead." I cried. "I'm sorry. I was planning to run away, but I heard a car crash and so I ran over here. Did you think I was really in the car accident?" Sunwoo chuckled. "Yes. I was so shocked and relived! Now I'm crying so much. I missed you a lot." I said as I hugged him tighter. "Don't worry I'm here now. Let's go see what happened." Sunwoo took me by my hands and we walked into the crowd to see what happened.

//Later that night//
Sunwoo took me home. "Why did you plan on running away?" I asked him. "I didn't want to, but I chose to." He squeezed my hand. "Why?" I asked him. "I didn't really have a option. You're happy and we're just friends. It's been a bit tough too, my parents are always fighting. I didn't plan to go back home after tonight." Sunwoo looked at me as we stopped in front of the door. "Y/n. Tzuyu is a nice girl, I think we all could be friends." He smiled and I smiled back. I knew he'd find someone better. I'm happy. "Yeah, I think we all could." I took out my keys. "Y/n..." he took my hands before I reached the doorknob. "I- I think you like somebody." He said as my heart began to race. "Why do you ask that?" I looked at him. My heart ached. "You and Hyunjae looked so great. That face of yours, you were the happiest I've ever seen. Perhaps him?" He smirked. "No. You're crazy." I chuckled. "Well, even if I don't wanna return back home, I still wanna be apart of your life. If you don't see me again, I apologize but I hope to meet you soon again." He came closer to me and kissed my forehead. "Goodnight Barbie." He said chuckling and then pat my head. "Goodnight Buttercup." I said. Our nicknames, they were perfect. I went inside as I watched him leave as safely as possible.
//The Next Day//
I rushed out of bed and got ready. I left right away. I called Sunwoo but he didn't pick up, I started to worry. Soon my ringer came on and he was calling me back. I answered it.
"I'm sorry, I didn't have my phone with me. What is it?"

"Sunwoo. I just wanted to check on you."

"Oh, you didn't have to. Thanks though, I'll see you at school."

He ended the call and I thought I was being crazy again. Why do I keep worrying about him when he doesn't do the same? Remember he's just a friend.

I got to school and he didn't seem to notice me. "Sunwoo? Are you doing well?" I asked him. "Yeah. My mom kinda yelled at me. It's okay though." He said as he continued walking. "Wanna have lunch together?" I asked him. "Sure. See ya then." He said as he ran up the stairs. I went to go meet Mina and Yuqi. "Hey, have you noticed?" Yuqi asked me. "Noticed? Noticed what?" I asked confusedly. "Tzuyu has been very friendly, she used to be so shy." Mina said glancing at her. "Hey. Don't worry, she's just getting out of her shell. She's a good person, says Sunwoo. Come on, let's get the day over and go shopping." I said as I put my books on the table. "I'm just now realizing. It isn't just Tzuyu it's Sunwoo too. Both are acting suspicious." Yuqi said. "Maybe they're just changing and becoming better and more of their selves. Com'n let's study now." I said. "Maybe not them too but you also. Someone might be jealous." Mina said nudging me. "What? No way. Besides I don't seem to have any relationship with anyone right now." I said as I looked for Sunwoo. "I'll just skip study time and get ready for lunch." I said packing up my books. "It's in less than 20 minutes." Yuqi said. "It's fine. I wanna have a little time alone with myself. See ya in a bit." I said as I put my backpack on. I looked around and noticed that everyone was around a bulletin board. I push my way in and saw that there was going to be rookie celebrity coming to town and having a concert. The surprise was he wasn't revealed yet and in real life he had to be a disguise to others. The surprise was he's revealing his identity. I'm really hoping to meet him. I went off to my locker and noticed that Tzuyu was with Sunwoo. I smiled and went over to them. "Hello, I'm Y/n and I'm guessing you're Tzuyu." I bowed to her as she did the same. "Yes, I am. Did you want to speak to Sunwoo?" Tzuyu asked. "Yes." I said to her as I looked at Sunwoo. "You're still going to lunch with me, correct?" I smiled. "Change of plans. I have something to attend to and I have to leave early. I'm very sorry Y/n. Hyunjae said he can take my spot for the day." He said scratching his neck. "Oh, sure. Where are you going?" I asked. "I'm-" Sunwoo was cut off. "I'm taking him to his doctor's appointment." Tzuyu said as she went to his other side and gave him a pat. "He felt under the weather lately. You wouldn't mind if we can leave before we would be late?" Tzuyu asked. "Oh. No, it's fine. As long as he gets better. I have to meet up with Hyunjae too." I said chuckling. *Bell rings* "That's my call. Feel better buttercup." I said smiling and walking away to find Hyunjae.

Sunwoo's POV:
"Tzuyu? Why did you say that?" I asked. "Didn't you see? You almost gave yourself away. Go meet up with the agency already." Tzuyu said as she called her dad. I walked out behind the school and went inside the limbo. "My dad will be there in a bit. Let's go." Tzuyu said as we got inside the car.

Y/n's POV:
"Hyunjae?" I asked. "What's up with Sunwoo?" I gave him a look. "I don't really seem to know. I took his spot for the day. Don't worry, he'll be feeling better again." He said eating up his food. "I hope so." I continued eating.

Later me and the girls went shopping. It was so pack we were afraid we couldn't go shopping and would have to cancel for the day. We walked around and heard that the rookie celebrity was going to be here today to sign autographs. When he arrived he was tall, had a hat, had shades and a mask on. He was going to release his new album soon in about two weeks or less. Mina, Yuqi and me just decided to do our own thing and shop since celebrities weren't really a great impact in our lives right now. We did our shopping and headed home. "Sleepovers? It's Friday." Mina asked. "Yeah! My parents won't be home for two days. My house?" Yuqi asked. "I'll call my mom." I said.

We got to Yuqi's house and put everything to the side. "I can't believe your mom said 'yeah' Y/n." Yuqi surprisingly said. "Me too." Mina said. "Me three, surprisingly." I said opening the bag of chips. "Movies?" Mina said. "Yay! Horror movie!" Yuqi excitingly said. "At night?" I asked. "Of course. Besides, everyone has seen 'Lights Out' right?" Yuqi asked. "I don't like that movie." I said taking the remote. I scrolled down and saw (YOUR FAVORITE HORROR MOVIE) I clicked on it. "Let's watch it." I said. "It doesn't look scary." Yuqi said. "Well, let's just watch it. Don't judge a movie by its cover." Mina said turning off the lights as she brought the popcorn. I grabbed the blankets and Yuqi grabbed the drinks. "I love you girls." I said as I smiled and the movie began to play.

Sunwoo's POV:
I'm so tired. I should take a shower though. I got in the shower and did my shower routine. I got out and dressed up. My phone was on 18% so I put it on the charger. I miss Y/n, I wonder what she's up to. I texted her but she didn't respond. She's probably asleep. I should get to bed. It was a long day. I turned off the lights and got under the covers.

I thought about her everyday. She made it easier. She made me happier. She made life right. Would it be right to let her go sooner or later? But I can't. Why did I have to be him. I wish I could be me like how she shows me who I really am. I heard the door open and shut and I knew what it was going to turn out to be. My dad being drunk and my mom sickly dealing with this bullshit. Luckily he just went straight to bed.

My dad cheated on my mom 3 times but she never had the guts to leave him. I always took care of her when he left. He brought a girl here once while mom was sick but I threw her out of the house while my dad was sleeping. I told her to never come back or else she would be sent to prison for trespassing. She never came back and actually blocked my dad. My dad never found out. My mother flew out for two months and my dad disappeared for awhile. He was once a good man before he became this way. He started taking pills because he lost his job. I didn't care anymore but try to pursue my dreams. I have it now, and now that I do, I only care about my mom and Y/n. My mom and me tried to runaway that one night but we came back eventually because we didn't have anywhere else to go. We could've went to my agency but my dad came and found us and my parents started arguing. A few minutes after he found us, there was a car accident then there I found Y/n. It was a long night and I don't understand why my parents didn't divorce yet. I know it'll be tougher on me but I just want my mom to do better. I hope it'll be better soon.
