Backstory: Martha grew up in a Pureblood family, though her parents taught her that just because she's pureblood, doesn't mean she's above others. When she got her Hogwarts letter, she was thrilled, and once she finally got to the school she's heard about her entire life, she felt at home. She was sorted into Hufflepuff, and she met Newt that night. She noticed that he was sitting by himself, so she decided to talk with him. They bonded over their mutual love of creatures, and a friendship formed that night. Over their years together at Hogwarts, they formed a strong friendship, often exploring the grounds of Hogwarts for any creatures they could find. But when Leta came into the picture, things changed. Martha didn't trust Leta from the start, and when she voiced this to Newt, it drove a wedge between them. They didn't talk as often, they didn't explore as much, and it really left a hole in Martha's school life. When Newt was expelled because of Leta, that was the last straw for her. She immediately raced to find Newt, and just caught him as he was getting on the carriages to leave Hogwarts. She gave him the biggest hug ever, and promised to write to him. After he left, Hogwarts wasn't the same. The colors seemed duller, and the loneliness bit at her like an angry Niffler. The only comfort she received was in the letters she and Newt exchanged over the years. Once she graduated from Hogwarts, she went to find Newt. Once she finally found him, she never left his side ever again.
