I arrived at the hospital around 8:30 due to traffic, I got out of my car and went into the building.
"Welcome back Rick" one of the nurses said
"Hey, could I see Abby?" I asked
"Yeah sure, here is her room key" The nurse said
"Thanks" I replied
I walked over and into the elevator, I pressed the button to go to Abby's floor.
"When you run after a long time your body gets tired and you slow down, well guess what. Right when you get tired then your body won't have the strength to continue, that allows whatever is chasing you to catch up even quicker and then when it reaches you, you will have no strength to fight it"
I kept playing what Josh said on repeat, I need to find some way to fight and cope with my past, so hopefully, I can't forget about it. The elevator doors opened and I step out into the hallway, to my right was Abby's room. I swiped the key through the door lock and opened the door. I nearly fell to my knees as I saw what was before me. The bed I saw Abby lay in was empty and everything was torn from there rightful places. My fear shot through the roof.
"Abby?!" I cried
I looked in every nook and cranny to see if this was some prank, but I couldn't find anything.
"No, no no no no no no no" I repeated over and over
I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone, and I dialed Jessica's number
"Hey Rick, what's up" Jessica asked
"A.....A...Abby's gone" I cried
"She's what?" Jessica cried
"She's gone, Abby isn't in her room. She's gone" I cried
"Okay calm down, I'm on my way" Jessica said
I heard her hung up, so I slid my phone back into my pocket. It was about half an hour later that she showed up.
"Oh my god, what happened here" Jessica said
"I don't know! It was like this when I got here" I cried
"Okay, okay. Let's go outside and see if they moved her somewhere" Jessica said
I nodded and walked out of the room, Jessica put her hand on my back and started rubbing it, trying to keep me calm. When we made it outside it was night, and the sun had already set.
"Okay, let's look around" Jessica said
"A....alright" I said
And that's when we heard a scream, not a female scream, a male one, and it came from the alley.
