Prologue

"Queen Bladerunner! The enemy is attacking!"

"Thank you for reporting this Starseer." said Bladerunner calmly. She walked past him and out onto the grass that was the clan's front yard, now a battlefield.

The white, ice cold scales of the enemy clashed with the multicolored ones of her clan. As she surveyed the area looking for the best way to get to the attacking fleets leader, Starseer raced past her and back into battle where his midnight black scales blended in with those of the other Nightwings.  

Bladerunner always admired Starseer's bravery and cunning. But lately there was never time for him to plan, for the enemy always attacked before they had a chance to strategize. Many of Bladerunner's soldiers were still healing from the previous battles. But they didn't mind continuing to fight, at least, that's what they told her.

Finally spotting the enemy fleet's leader, Bladerunner sprang into the air feeling the wind catch in her scarlet colored wings. She flew towards her target, using her assassin skills to her advantage, along with her target's stupidity.

The enemy's leader was her ex-boyfriend, a tall, strong Icewing with a heart as cold as his scales. He never truly cared about her she knew that. Why else would he have cheated on her?

Suddenly, a roar sounded not to far away, and it sounded like her husband Eagle! She abandoned her mission and went to see what was wrong, and what she saw, terrified her.
