Luke softly shook his 4 year old daughter from her slumber, "Melody, sweetie, you've go to wake up now." He spoke softly. "Daddy no!" She scrunched up her tiny button nose and a frown formed across her eyebrows. "We have to head over to the studio soon," Luke responded, stroking his fingers up and down her small pale arms, "cuddles?" Melody reached her hands up, and even though he knew he shouldn't, he lowered his head to let his daughters arms wrap around his neck and pulled him down, Luke moved around until he was laying down next to his baby girl. "We have to get up and get ready Mel" he sighed into Melody's blonde hair. "Did you get more Cheerios?" She mumbled into Luke's neck, "yes baby, uncle Mike went out yesterday, now c'mon!" He swiftly sat up with his daughters limbs wrapped around his body.

Luke made his way down the stairs and into the kitchen, and sat Melody down on the kitchen bench, "Morning Melly!" Michael yelled with a mouth full of food.

Before everything that had happened with Melody and her mother, the boys decided that they'd go off in twos to share a flat, Ashton and Calum, and Michael and Luke together. Michael didn't mind that he had to share a house with Luke and Melody, he was always there when Mel was getting to stressful for Luke, he felt needed and enjoyed being the favourite 'uncle' out if the three, the only unfortunate thing was that Melody had Michael wrapped around her tiny little fingers. He loved watching the youngest boy in the band looking after his daughter, he would take notice everyday on how much Melody was growing into a mini Luke, from day one she had been the most grumpiest morning person, she was always a hungry child and needed to be the centre of attention when she was around anyone.

"Morning uncle Mike" Melody yawned, rubbing her eyes. As Luke was preparing Mel's breakfast Michael carried her to her seat at the table. Michael could tell by the way Luke was rushing around the kitchen trying to make his daughter breakfast that he was stressed about the time. Melody was getting impatient, squirming around in her chair "daddy!" She whined pouting her lips. "Coming!" Luke practically skipped to the table, placing the bowl down in front of her, handing her a plastic spoon. "Mate, go have a shower, I'll watch Melly." Michael smiled softly down at Melody, "thanks so much man!" Luke softly ruffled Mel's hair then ran off upstairs.

Luke mostly always seemed to be running late in the mornings, as he felt that need to spend 10 minutes in bed with Melody, so Michael was used to the morning routine. "Uncle Mike!" Melody pulled the end of Michael's sleeve to get his attention, he looked down at her and raised his eye brows, "I'm to tired," she shot her bright blue eyes to look into Michael's green ones whilst shoving her spoon towards his hands. He let out a soft chuckle and started scooping up small piles of Cheerios on the spoon and lowered it to Melody's mouth.

Shortly after finishing up Mel's breakfast Luke rushed down stairs wearing his usual black skinny jeans, with a oversized jumper draped over his long waist, to get Melody bathed and dressed, "c'mon baby, the baths running for you", he started doing grabby hands at Melody getting her attention away from Michael's hair.

Melody was a very fussy child, some days having baths were her favourite things, and some days she hated baths and threw a tantrum like today for instance.
"Daddy no! I don't want!" She continued whining whilst clinging to Luke's neck, "Mel we don't have time for this, look there's so many bubbles.. and toys, look at the toys!" Luke tried to pry her off him but she wouldn't budge, just continuing to scream no. "We won't even wash your hair, we can wash it tomorrow baby, please Melody!"
10 minutes had been wasted and Luke was growing more agitated by the second. He finally moved her arms from around his neck and that's when Melody started crying, completely sobbing. With Melody squirming and hitting Luke's arms with as much strength as she could it took Luke 5 minutes to finally get her in the water. He tried getting her to play with the bubbles, he tried to get her to play barbies with him but she just wouldn't stop crying,
the thing that hurt Luke's heart the most was that she was quietly crying, not screaming, not even looking at her daddy because she had decided that she hated him, Luke questioned her once he heard her mumble something, that's when Melody looked into her fathers eyes and shakily said "I hate you," and turned her body away from Luke to face the wall. Luke didn't know how to reply, his shoulders instantly slumped, if he wasn't already sitting he could've sworn his legs would've gave way. Michael, who had witnessed the whole thing softly spoke, "if you want a minute or two I can watch her," he placed his hand on the younger boys shoulder. Luke slowly stood up and Michael could see his eyes were glassy with tears.
He took a seat on the floor, "Melly, you can't say that to your dad, or to anyone." Michael kept his voice soft and calm. "Well I do hate him, he's not my daddy anymore." Michael's heart was aching from her forceful words. "Can you please look at me?" Melody slowly turned around and looked into Mike's eyes. "Saying something like that to someone can really hurt someone Mel, especially you're daddy, he gets very upset very easily okay." He had no idea how to talk in a way that would make sense to Melody, but she slowly nodded her head. "C'mon, let's get you out of the bath and get you dressed,"
