Chapter 11;

Holly was the first to wake in the morning, well so she thought.
She began her journey to the bathroom when she heard a small voice coming from the room next to Luke's.
Slowly poking we head through the pink door she smiled as Melody attempting to paint her fingernails with a pink nail polish.
"Oh my gosh Mel!" Holly giggled because she had it all over her hands and some on her face, luckily none on the walls or on the carpet.
"Can you please help me." Melody pouted, reaching her fingers out.
She nodded in response and took a seat across from the small girl.

Holly began removing all of the nail polish, then replied it, which was very difficult as Melody's nails were so small and tiny but all turned out alright.

"I love them!" Melody squealed, "daddy look!"
Holly didn't noticed that Luke had been standing at the door for a while, Luke dropped to his knees and held Mel's tiny hands in his.
"Wow Mel! They're so pretty. Did you say thank you?" Luke whispered the last part.
Melody nodded and ran back to Holly, "thank you!" She gave Holly a quick hug.

"Alright, we've gotta have some breakfast then we can go to the carnival!" Luke announced, ushering Melody and Holly out of the room and down stairs.

After picking Ethan up from his parents house, Luke began driving towards their destination.
"Look, I dunno if I'll get noticed when we're out today, so if I do it might get a bit hectic.." Luke mumbled loudly enough for Holly to hear.
"It's fine Luke, I'll probably bail on you and run away with the kids." Holly laughed and Luke smiled, "That'd probably be a good game plan." He nodded biting his lip.
"Daddy!" Melody was making a fuss in the back seat.
Luke made eye contact with Mel through the rear view mirror and rose his eyebrows, questioning her on what she wants.
"How much longer? I'm so bored!" She whined and lightly kicked the back of Holly's seat.
"We'll be there in two minutes, and don't kick please." He spoke sternly but let out a silent laugh when he heard Melody mumble an apology.

"I don't see why I couldn't pay for me and Ethan." Holly whined as Luke reached for her hand to hold.
"It was a family pass so it was cheaper, and I suggested coming here so hush." Luke smiled brightly, kissing her cheek, then averted his eyes down to Melody and Ethan walking a few steps in front of them.
"What ride first?" Holly asked the two children and they quickly looked around, whispering to each other.
"That one!" Mel yelled pointing towards a Ferris wheel.
"Okay." Luke let out a shaky breath,
"Don't tell me you're scared of heights?" Holly asked guiding them towards the line.
"I'm not afraid, I just don't love heights." He stuck his tongue out as Holly began laughing, "you've been flying around on planes for so many years, how can you be scared?"
"I don't know! This thing could snap at any point, I mean c'mon, the only safety we have is a cage!" Luke crossed his arms over his chest, getting defensive.
"It's okay, I'll hold your hand." Holly giggled, "you'll be okay dad!" Melody tugged on his pants encouragingly and Luke sighed.
"I'm not scared." He frowned and the other three laughed.

After being seated in the 'unsafe cage' the ride began.
Luke was just sitting patiently waiting for the stupid ride to be over, but once he looked down at Ethan's pale face Luke elbowed Holly's side.
"What?" Holly groaned, slapping his arm. Luke nodded his head to Ethan, "looks like I'm not the only one afraid of heights." He mumbled and Holly gasped.
"Ethan, you okay bud?" She asked sweetly, Ethan shook his head no and tears began building in his brown eyes.
"Come here man." Luke reached his arms out for the small boy, as Luke was closer and actually cared about him.
Ethan immediately jumped into Luke's arms, hiding his face in his chest.
"Oh no!" Melody stressed, coming over to pat his back.
"He's okay Mel, he's just scared like daddy." Luke chuckled, watching Melody nod and continue looking out at the view.

After a few more easy rides, and Holly taking Melody on a few big, scary ones it was time for lunch.
Holly was taking the two kids to the toilet, while Luke was meant to be ordering lunch.
"Excuse me?" Luke turned away from the line he was in to be greeted by a small group of girls, who looked around the ages of 15-17.
"Hi.." Luke smiled, then frowned when he saw every girl on their phones, on twitter.
"Please don't tell everyone I'm here, we can get photos and stuff.. I'm just trying to enjoy my day with Mel." Luke sighed, his puppy dog eyes on display.
"Oh okay.. We won't tell anyon- whose that?" The girl with brown hair, who looked as the leader asked.
She pointed towards Holly and the kids, obviously noticing Melody.
"My friend and her nephew," Luke explained waving over to Holly.
"You've finally found a girl?" One smirked, Luke's cheeks were blushing, "she's just a good friend, Melody loves hanging out with Ethan." He explained, then internally groaned when he saw some girls filming him.
"And you love hanging with that girl, which is fair enough because she's gorgeous." The girl winked at Luke.
He realised then that Holly was standing a few meters away with the kids running around her.
"Hol, it's fine." Luke nodded, and Holly dragged the two over tired and over hungry children to the group.
"Hi.." Holly made no eye contact with anyone, you could see that she wasn't used to this much attention.
"So, so you guys want photos real quick? They're starved." Luke chuckled pointing down at Melody and Ethan, trying to hurry things so he could be with Holly.
"I'll go order." Holly smiled lightly to Luke and took Ethan and Mel with her.

"Sorry about the fans." Luke spoke softly in the car, noticing the two four year olds were asleep in the back.
"It's fine, honestly. I'm just so awkward in front of people." Holly chuckled, playing with her fingers.
"Well, they had a good day then." Luke and Holly laughed after Ethan let out a huge snore.
"Thanks for taking us out, I really appreciate it." Holly slowly reached her hand over to hold Luke's unoccupied one.
"Anytime babe, it's a lot of fun. We're gonna do it again soon." He nodded at himself, not letting Holly reject his offer.
"Water park?" Holly suggest and Luke gasped.
"Shit yes." They both laughed, Holly noticing the beautiful sunset, she relaxed in her seat and Luke gave her hand a squeeze.
They both could get used to this..
