Chapter 7;

Luke was having a great birthday, he loved that everyone there was dressed up, especially because Melody would've been disappointed if it was only her and the 4 boys as pirates. All of Luke's family were attending, and all his and the lads friends they've made along the way were there as well.

Luke was having a chat to his brother Ben and Ashton when Melody ran over lightly tapping Luke on his hip with her plastic sword. "What's up hon?" Ben reached to pick Melody up. "It's cake time!" She squealed, pointing towards the table in the backyard, Ben ran himself and Mel over to the table whilst Luke and Ash slowly made their way to the everyone.

Luke stood slightly embarrassed when everyone was singing him Happy Birthday, then him and Mel blew out the candles together with everyone 'aw'ing.

"What'd you wish for daddy?" Melody asked hugging Luke's neck. "I can't tell you Melly, then it won't come true. But I will tell you that the wish was for both of us." He kissed her cheek sweetly.

"Luke sweetie, there's someone here!" Liz called from the back door.

Luke placed Mel on the ground and made his way to the front door, removing his eye patch whilst he was out of Mel's sight.

Once Luke reached the door he recognised two faces, also dressed up as pirates.

"Happy birthday," Holly smiled sheepishly. She actually looked very beautiful, even when her clothes were ripped up. "Sorry we're a little late, this one was being very fussy!" She reached down to ruffle Ethan's brown hair. "Is Melody here?" He asked excitedly, "yeah! Yeah come in, sorry!" Luke laughed at his stupid self.

He motioned for the two to follow him to the backyard. "We've missed the cake haven't we?" Holly asked, taking in her surroundings, "yeah sorry, Melody was keen for it all day." Luke laughed.

They both watched as Ethan bolted off as soon as he caught sight of Mel.

"Come meet my best mates!" Luke offered, noticing the three boys having a casual chat.

"Boys! This is Holly, Holly this is Ashton, Calum and Mike!" They all shared smiles and waves. "We've heard some things about you," Michael winked at Holly. "Don't be a dick dude." Luke sighed in frustration, the last thing he needed was for Holly to think he was a creep.

"Don't worry about Mel needing a nap, get Luke in bed straight away!" Calum cackled, with Holly joining in.

Luke shot a fake glare towards her and she put her hands up in defeat.

"I need to go check on Mel and Ethan, it's too quiet for them." Luke smiled politely leaving Holly with his three mates.

Luke searched high and low around the backyard for the two kids, but he couldn't find them for the life of him!

So he went searching inside, slowly making his way up towards Melody's room. He heard small voices on the other side of the door. "Maybe your dad and my aunty will fall in love and we can see each other all the time!" Ethan's voice boomed. "I don't know, my daddy's still sad about my mummy. He always yells her name in his sleep! Maybe we should make them kiss!" Luke pulled his ear away from the pink door very confused. Luke didn't know he talked in his sleep, especially crying out Sam's name? He quickly decided right now wasn't the time to think about that!

After realising the two weren't up to any trouble Luke went back to the party. He saw Holly's brown hair and red bandana straight away, talking to his mum and brother Jack. "Shit." Luke sighed to himself, walking up to them.

"Did you find them?" Holly smiled noticing him approaching. "Yeah, just in Mel's room, what are you guys doing?" Luke looked to see his brother with a smirk on his face. "Holly was just telling us how you met!" Liz smiled brightly. "Yeah, it's not really that interesting." Luke mumbled looking around.

"I should probably get going.." Holly's voice sounded small, "you just got here?" Luke walked beside her, both walking inside. "Yeah, but you're being weird and I probably scared you off because I've already talked to your family." Holly mumbled, trying to figure out where to go next.

"I'm sorry! My minds on something else right now, it's not you I promise!" Luke smiled softly, showing her the way to Mel's room. "You don't have to go." Luke sighed reaching for her hands. "I know, I'm just not feeling well right now." She nodded her head, trying to convince herself she should leave.

"Well thanks for coming, even though it lasted like an hour." Luke laughed softly. "I hope you've had a good birthday." Holly smiled, watching Mel and Ethan hug goodbye.

"Holl?" Luke sighed looking into her brown eyes. "Yes?" Her eyebrows rose, "would I be able to take you out some time?" Luke was biting his lip and moving his feet around, clearly shitting a brick.

"On a date?" Holly faked a shock look, "if you're not interested that's fine, just wondering.." Luke coughed. Holly couldn't help but laugh, which Luke looked at her clearly confused.

"Yeah, I'll go on a date with you, just text me or whatever!" Holly smiled, and reached up to place a soft, warm kiss on Luke's cheek. "Thanks." Luke whispered smiling brightly.

It was now around 7 o'clock and everyone had left except Calum and Ashton. "Guess what!" Melody ran into the lounge room, just after having her bath. Michael and Cal paused there video game and they all questioned Mel. "Daddy's going on a date!" Melody squealed clapping her hands.

"Mel, here's your slippers!" Luke walked into the room with bunny slippers in hand, but what scared Luke the most is the shock but pleased faces the boys had. "Why ate you looking at me lik- Mel why'd you tell?!" Luke whined and she giggled. "Lukey's finally growing some balls!" Ashton cheered. "Good thing you asked her, or I probably would've mate!" Michael hollered causing Luke to frown. "I'm kidding! Oh my gosh I'm going to have so much fun with this." Michael let out a howl of a laugh.

"Whatever, c'mon Mel, let's go to bed!"
