Luke, Michael and Melody had finally made it to the studio at 10;30, Luke and Melody hadn't said a word to each other yet, Michael had to get Mel dressed, do her hair and help her with brushing her teeth.

He then found Luke outside sitting on a step, he had been in silent mode since the 3 words came out of his 4 year old daughters mouth.

Luke knew that Melody probably didn't mean it, but he just couldn't help that the ache in his chest was so big, he never wanted to hear those words come from anybody he loved and cared for, especially his baby, the reason he was being so silent was because he just kept getting lost in his own damn thoughts.

Melody sat in her car seat the whole ride watching the back of her daddy's head, she was waiting for him to say one of his stupid jokes that always made her laugh, or for him to reach around and grab her tiny foot which always caused her to giggle but that never came and Mel was completely confused with this, not knowing how much of an impact her words had on her daddy.

"'bout time you guys showed up!" Ashton smiled brightly, Melody ran straight into his arms and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "how are you Melly?" Ashton poked her sides causing her to scream and giggle. Luke watched with a small smile playing on his lips, but it quickly faded when Melody told Ash that her daddy was being a meanie.

"Hey guys!" Calum smiled walking through the door with two coffees, for him and Ashton. "Uncle Cal!" Melody clapped and Calum responded with a small happy dance. Melody was placed back on the ground and she ran to her set up area the boys put together so she had something to keep her entertained whilst they did 'banding'.

"You right mate?" Calum asked gaining Luke's attention, he shrugged his shoulders, "Mel told me she hated me," he muttered, both Calum and Ashton held shocked expressions on their faces, "how does she even know what hate means? We've always watched what we say around her!" Ashton was extremely confused, "what'd you do?" Calum asked glancing over to where Melody was colouring in something. "She didn't want a bath, and we didn't have time to stuff around and she was screaming and sobbing and I just had enough and put her in the bath, then she looked me dead in the eye and told me.." Michael reached over to pat his friend on the back with a upset smile, "she'll come around mate, I had a talk to her." He tried reassuring Luke. "Well, let's make a start to the day!" Luke clapped his hands together, quickly standing up to grab his note book and guitar, avoiding the other boys sympathetic gazes.

Ashton and Michael were sitting down near Melody whilst Luke and Calum wear recording some vocals. "Mikey! I'm hungry!" Melody ran over and jumped onto the couch Michael was occupying. "We have to wait for Cal and your dad, then we can go get some food!" Michael informed her then began tickling her sides. "Is daddy still mad at me?" Melody asked after stopping Mike from attacking her, "he's not mad at you Melly, he's just sad because you told him you hated him." "But I don't really hate him! I was just very very mad at him!" Melody began pouting, "now daddy hates me!" Her blue eyes were wide with panic. "Melody-" Ashton began to speak to Melody, when he was interrupted by the door opening, revealing Calum and a very stressed out Luke.

Melody didn't hesitate to jump off the couch and run straight over to Luke, needless to say, he was shocked but dropped down to his knees and let Melody wrap her arms around his neck, "daddy I love you, I promise I don't really hate you, please don't hate me!" Melody was holding on tight to Luke's neck. His hands were placed on her small back, then on her waist to pull her back a little to look at her. "Melly, I love you baby. You just made daddy a little sad but I will always love you okay?" He watched Melody's face change from panic to relief, she reached up and gave a kiss to Luke's lips, making an overreacted kissing sound. "C'mon, are you hungry?" Luke asked his daughter and she nodded eagerly, he kissed her forehead and then lifted her up and motioned to the three boys that it was time for lunch. "I love when were a happy family." Calum clapped with a big smile.
