"Mr. Lin?" A small child asked.

Lin chuckled and spun around. "What's up, Kiddo?" He knew this child was the child of one of the actors, but he couldn't place which one.

"Is she your girlfriend?" The child pointed a tiny finger to Pippa, who was giggling across the room with the Schuyler Sisters.

Lin laughed. "Nope, Pippa isn't my girlfriend."

"But you kissed her!"

"Was she in a pretty dress?" Lin asked, kind of understanding where this was headed.

The young boy shook his head. "No, she was dressed like that."

Lin looked back to see Pippa in her hoodie and leggings from post rehearsal. "Oh, you saw me kiss her forehead?"

"Yeah! Is she your girlfriend?"

"No, she isn't, but she is my very best friend." Lin smiled.

"What? But...but boyfriends kiss their girlfriends. You don't kiss your best friend! You have to love her!" The little boy seemed hopelessly confused.

"I do love Pippa, but I love her like a best friend." Lin explained. "You're a bit too young to understand the difference, though, but you'll get it someday."

"Wait." The little boy stopped Lin as he started standing up. Lin knelt back down. "So...you just kiss her...and you're not in love?"

"Well, I never kiss her on the lips. That's only for her real boyfriend, or in the show." Lin chuckled.

"Oh." The child thought. "Well, do you want to be her boyfriend?" Lin started to answer but the child kept speaking. "Because I think when you are in the pretty dresses, I think she loves kissing you. It makes her happy. Because she always smiles after!"

Lin didn't want to explain to this cutie that it was her character kissing his character, and not Lin kissing Pippa, but he didn't want to ruin the sparkle here. "You really think so?" Lin asked.

"I know so! And I think she should be your girlfriend!"

"Really?"

"Yeah!" After a moment of silence, a woman's voice called, and the child waved. "Goodbye, Mr. Lin! I hope she is your girlfriend soon!"

A/N:

"She deserves someone new. Someone she isn't with every single day. I love her like a best friend, because I know if I loved her like a girlfriend, work would get in the way."
