From World to World . . .

I woke up with my back against a tree. Before that, I remember falling.

Hold up, let's back up.

My name is Y/N Mathis. Before today, I was a medical student in Fennmont. I worked as an apprentice, and had a sudden influx of patients, caused by some freak accident. Naturally, I wanted to check it out. I have a habit of doing that.

But anyway, when I got to the place of the incident, a military base, I met a girl named Milla Maxwell. Immediately after that, we engaged in a fight with a girl in red. After we beat her, she created a portal, which I fell through. What's weird, though, is that I felt something grow inside me, and then revert back to normal. The last thing I saw was a person who looked like me soaring out of my chest.

(This is my way of patching up the Xillia story. The portal made an identical clone.)

But back to the real me.

I was apparently in a courtyard, and near a castle-like structure. Young people, most likely older than me, roamed about, all in uniforms. I deduced that I was at a school. The thing is, I had never heard of a school that looked like this, nor had I ever seen the uniforms everyone was wearing.

I hear a branch snap above me, and instinctively roll left.

Right move, apparently. Right where I was sitting, a blonde girl was making a pained face and rubbing her rear, likely from falling from the tree.

A black haired girl wearing a bow flipped down from the tree. A girl wearing a red hood hung upside down from a branch, and a white haired girl shimmied down.

Red: Yang! Are you OK?

Yang: Yeah . . . just hurts . . .

The bow-wearing one notices me.

Bow: Hey. Are you alright?

I nod.

White: What's with your outfit? Are you a new transfer student?

Me: Um, I don't know. Maybe?

White: Well, you should probably go see the headmaster before you doze off by a tree.

Red: Pardon Weiss here. The headmaster is in the top of the central tower.

Me: Uh, thanks . . . I'll see you later.

I made my way to the tower, and saw the strangest thing: a girl with rabbit ears. What's weirder, I saw them twitch. I told myself that I was probably imagining things.

I took an elevator up to the headmaster's office. Two guards stood in front of the door.

Guard: You have an appointment?

Me: I just need to speak with the headmaster.

Guard: Well, if you can make it quick, then go on ahead.

I walk in to see a silver-haired man sitting in a chair, drinking coffee.

Headmaster: Ah. I don't believe I know you. I am Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon Academy.

Yup. Have definitely never heard of this place.

Me: Sir, I think I've been sent here against my own will. If I may ask, what is the location of this school?

Ozpin: We are in the part of Remnant known as Vale.

Me: And there is nothing outside of Remnant?

Ozpin: No.

I start to panic.

Ozpin notices this.

Ozpin: Are you alright, young man?

I calm myself slightly and look straight at him.

Me: Sir, you may not believe it, but . . .

Me: . . . I'm from another world.
